I keep most of them under 500, but some do get much longer, some people say the long posts are good for the seo, but for most readers in todays world short is sweet.

The long post days are over for me. My posts now average between 90 to 120 words daily! Back in the day of longer posts some were in draft mode for up to a week!

Average is typically in the 500 range. The longest was over 3K and I seriously doubt one reader got through the entire thing! It was a neighborhood post.

I often have several posts that I'm drafting so, it's not unusual to take days to craft.

I don't really know but probably under 2000 words.  I purposely write short and to the point posts. I hate reading long posts full of fluff and I don't think people want to read my babble.

I've read the articles about long posts being more SEO friendly but I don't really care to play that game. It's constantly changing anyway. I say what I have to say and end it.

1. I have no idea and no time to research backwards.

2. I don't know... they can range from 250 words to 800+ words... but again no time to research backwards.

3. No. When I sit down to write, I write.

1) No clue but I'd guess around 1,000 words.

2) My typical post is around 100 words.

I'm not sure as I prefer to break them up into sections. Then we were told that the longer ones were better - so I blended a few. Still didn't like they were so long.

Some keep crafting away on some evergreen posts. I don't do that either.

I actually forget to look at the word count.

Andrew,

I do my best to keep our post short and to the point.  I love brevity,.  I want our blogs to be read by humans who are interested and I could care less about the Google bots.  So I try to stick to 250-400.

Mine are usually 300 words or less, the most 500. Most readers lose interest after so many words unless it is very engaging. Some posts take time to put together, so will keep them in draft form until ready to submit.

There is an agent using same template posting every neighborhood in e coast with virtually identical topic day after day, week after week. Are they all listings no. That takes about 2 minutes each.

Someone made the comment here that under 500 does not rank with Google, saying that.  i average @300 but do go short and sweet with some of the stuff  I generate via a service that was provided to me.

I have started using my word processor then copy and past into this site.  it seems to keep the AR god happier.

When you search for information, time can be wasted trying to find something loaded with helpful links and education. To drill down into and stick around the blog post. Longer posts, just cranked one out with approaching 5000 words on buying a farm in Maine.
