I have never been a big email marketing user. I just doesn't sit well with me. I know how annoying my daily mailbox full of unsolicited emails are. I'd prefer not to be clumped in with that annoyance.

5. It depends

  • how effective was the message?
  • how receptive was the mailing list?
  • how expensive was the email service?
  • how much labor went into the mailing?
  • did the recipients care about and trust the mailer enough to open it up?

38x ROI is nice.  I'd listen to the sales pitch, but would want proof before paying.  Assuming no free trial, a small $20 level intro would be acceptable.  Of course, not sure how a $38 ROI would work for real estate.  My ROI is a closed deal which is more than $38.

Sorry but,the analytical me is wondering how on earth ANY email program could cost so much. $38:$1 means you have to spend a LOT of $$ upfront to cover an average commission/$38!!

#3, of course. with an ROI like that, I'd listen...

I can't even keep up with all the subscription-related emails I am actually interested in reading nevermind the unsolicited salesy crap. I think about that before I send unsolicited emails. In my experience "to good to be true" always is.
