I don't use Animoto but learned the hard way to always use PayPal for sites that auto renew. If they don't accept PayPal, I buy a throwaway VISA for the amount of the charge and if they try to auto renew, they can't.

I had a major problem a couple years ago with a provider pulling the auto renew stunt but luckily the CC that I used had expired so they could not. That was went I went to either PayPal or the throwaway.

Wow.  I have used Animoto in the past but believe it was either a free version or some type of subscription.   Long ago.  You need to be careful and extra vigilant when it comes to "automatic renewals".

I don't use Animoto (don't honestly even know what it is)... but they are by no means the only company using 'auto renew'... even Realtor.com has been guilty of that.

I make sure that any memberships I join are NOT auto-renew... and I put it in writing in an email.  I will not join ANYthing with auto-renew... that includes my Sirius radio, Sprint, broadband, cable, etc...

OH wow! I spent last month cancelling several of these 'auto-renew' services that I rarely use and realized I could totally do without!

Animoto is one of them - YouTube is so much easier, is SEO-friendly and is FREE!

I do not.  I recommend using Privacy.com cards for companies like this and set them to a one time use.  See my comment on Diana Zaccaro's response for more info on them.

mine doesn't expire until May.... and I do not have auto renew.... I went through that last time and they reduced what they charged me to a minimal fee....
