Who knew!  We have wood floors and had them resurfaced a few years ago so they still look fantastic.  And now to learn all we needed was a couple cases of walnuts.....LOL!!!!  Just kidding, not that bad!

my father in law soaks the outer shell of walnuts in water and uses that to spray around his house... keeps the bugs out of the mulch and it's all natural.

They suggested "spit n shine", coloring with pencils, a Brillo Pad & the walnut method for scratches. For gouges, use wood putty or call a pro.

Yes, I've done it before.  It's not the best and doesn't work on deep scratches... plus is just a sad use of a tastey walnut.

I can see the potential in any property!

The oils darken the newly exposed scratched wood and some of the nut meat fills in the area for an excellent temporary disguise, but it doesn't actually remove it like refinishing would. 

Buffing formica with olive oil will give it an even shine to disguise scuffs much in the same way!
