I usually do one little thing, which can feel like a completed project, and that helps me look at the next one, in stead seeing a mountain of work to be done. :)

I gave up procrastinating in college. I read a Wayne Dyer book and one chapter was on procrastination. Sorry I don't remember the title of the book.....maybe Erroneous Zones? See if you can find it and say adios to procrastination.

I don't have one ounce of 'back-burner' mentality in me! I think it's either genetic or due to a military upbringing...or a combination of both!

I wrote for deadline for close to 20 years and worked in radio longer than that - you're always doing something while waiting for something else and need to be advance-prepared for the blips and bloopers.
So I have my own groove I get into . . . I frame and set up what I'm doing right away, and then have critical dates for completion. (In radio, a 'hot clock' LOL but it shows where you need to be every minute of every hour!)
We do the same but in longer time periods.
This works for most anything - marketing, communicating, errands. Make the list, formulate a logical order, and BEGIN at the beginning.
The trick is to keep EVERYONE ELSE from procrastinating.

have the right attitude.... mine is to NOT get caught with an unexpected task on the day you decided to use to satisfy a task that you should have done the day before..... I think about that every time I want to push off doing a task that could have been done immediately and not the next day....

Hmm, more information needed.
There is the inherent resistance to lace up the sneakers and reel off another 10 miles and the resistance to venture into activity where the outcome is unknown.
For the former, being the master of my own body requires an expression in discipline. It is a demonstration, confirmation of what I can accomplish when I have control of all the parts. There's a edifying self-message there.
For the latter, remembrance of 'listening well' respect and how those with little sand remaining share the regret that sojourns with them because they were unwilling to take risk.
IN regards to getting the next post card out....I don't sweat the small stuff. Those recipients don't know I'm late.
I have found the less TV one watches the less stationary inertia there is to overcome.

I use a calendar where I write things to do and once done, check! I'm like the Energizer Bunny, just keeps going and going, check! Have to admit though, when it comes to my home and my private life, I tend to procastinate doing household chores, oh well... I never said I was perfect.
