Our county order supersedes the governor's order on that - whichever order is the strictest rules. Mecklenburg County (my county) says that we are not essential. 

I don't have a problem with it because I feel like if we all spend 2-3 weeks away from one another, we can get back to normal a lot faster!

Realtors in California are not considered to be "exempt" from the order to stay at home.

No open houses, no showing, homes, my office is closed, I am not supposed to meet with clients or prospective clients in person.

Shelter In Place include CA REALTORS, we are not exempt. CAR & SDAR are fighting that decision, until then, we are working virtually and from home.

Since NAR is fighting this decision too, I'm baffled how some states are claiming REALTORS are essential and others are not. We're in the shelter business, I'd say that makes us collectively in the top 3 essentials (food, shelter, clothing) along with medical related.

Shelter in place here in Illinois is a coupe of weeks old. And some are just getting the message!

We have been totally shut down for 9 days

Yes, I live in California and stay at home took place last Thursday the 19th. Our office is open to our agents but closed to the public. I self-quaranteed a week before that and I only go to the office when I need to.

Yes, of course we are shut down here in NY and have been for a while. (but it should have been done sooner - maybe a week or so).  We shut down maybe 2 days after California, but should have done before as it hit here before California.

Real estate is non essential, but property management is essential. Construction was essential...b/c orignally it was a broad classification meant to including building hospitals, making sure people have water, electricity, etc. But, unfortunately, some other construction continued, but that loophole was closed and shutdown in full yesterday.

Yes, the declaration was made last week, Real Estate Sales, Property Mgmt, and Forestry are all considered essentials.

I go to the office every day, just me and one of my admins working in an empty bldg, lot of zoom meetings and phone calls but no meetings with the public other than a few job interviews after we have already met with the candidate via zoom.

The Governor of Florida has not issued a stay-home order, but the Mayor of the county I'm in has.

Real estate offices and agents are considered essential.  We were not included in the original order, but our association lobbied the mayor and we were included in an amended order that came out the next day.

Stay in place still allows outdoor exercise and walking the dog.

I can only imagine the exchange if an agent were to call and say, "I have a buyer and I want to show your home."  

However this is and exceptional time for small business owner to collaborate and get a running start when the light turns green. We do know if they say "I've got to call you back, I've got a customer," they really don't want to talk.

Yes, different words, but Montana is doing the same. 

As of midnight last night. First we wer eon the closed list but a rise up from the troops were heard loud and clear. Now i just need seller willing to sell. 

People jsut need to use common sense and take basic precautions.

California has had one of these for a couple weeks now and realtors are the only part of the real estate chain that's NOT exempt.  We can still do stuff from home, but the order from our state association (an actual order, not guidance) is nothing in person.  No inspections, no agent visual inspections, no final walkthroughs, etc.  Closings and contract signings can still happen of course, but no showing property, no open houses, no leaving your house.

On March 20, per the California Association of Realtors, we Realtors have to comply with the sheltering in place order by our California governor. That means no face to face contact with clients, no open house, no brokers open, etc. And, no, we are not essential unless we are property managers.

Our realtor board is closed ordered to be shut down for awhile. 20 died, 574 infected  locally in my county.  

Well, the focus switched to Southern CA. The hospital ship is outside Long Beach, CA. LA Co. picked up more sick people just the last week or so. 1,465 infected, 26 died. By early April the numbers will be tripled to say the least. Our governor panicked went bananas.  

I did not see our lawmakers taking any precautionary steps from TV. Most are close to age 80. If one contracts it I guess we will not have laws.

The last major US epidemic was Kweichow(Guizhou) flu.  Over 100,000 US residents died. Eisenhower did not intervene. It was business as usual. Schools were not shut down.

Some states have made explicit declarations regarding various industries, including real estate. Different states came to different conclusions as to whether real estate is essential or not.

The same is happening in Colorado and real estate sales associates and construction professionals in the new home build industry are exempt. We are however operating by appointment only and our hours have been reduced.

Ginger ~ The Governor of Virginia has deemed real estate to be essential, so we can continue to practice as long as we do as much online as possible and follow CDC recommended procedures for in person situations.

Heck yes - a long time ago.  I am on day 16 - and I am NOT conducting showings or other business that violates that order. I have a brain and I know how to use it! 

no they have banned gatherings of more than 10 and asked for social distancing and closed restaurants except for take out

The residential sales business is not an essential business in Maryland. 

Stay at home for your personal good health and survival.

We are nearing the end of our original decree here in California and Real Estate has been determined to not be an essential activity at this time.  The order has now been extended to April 19th. in Los Angeles County where we reside.
