Being in an arid agricultural area, water rights are a very important issue... not just for farmers but domestic irrigation as well.

In my 23+ years as a Realtor, I have not had any dealings with water shares and water rights.

In different parts of California, those things can be an issue.

For centuries water and access to it remained of the utmost importance and caused Nations to even go to war. Today, being more civilized we have regulated it so there is some for all. Water rights become important to those that it matters when Real Estate that requires it comes up....Then we learn

None in my area. We get water from Lake Michigan as long as we pay our bill. The issue arises in states further west!
