Sales cycles are short and relatively fast in San Diego right now.

Under $1.2 M sells quick here still.

I’ll keep you posted as I have a new $500K listing hitting the market in 2 weeks.

Typically, the majority of agents that are going to drop do so around when the various dues are due.  Others drop outside of those reasons, but that isn't as predictable.

In my market of over 2,000 agents two dropping out is not even a drop in the bucket.

Is it a violation of your MLS's rules? Why would they be paying the MLS fees if not active?

Inactive agents are not that noticable, though I do know many drop out when the dues are due.

For us, there are two dates that licenses expire, and one date that MLS expires.  So after one of those dates, plenty of people become inactive.  It is a trend in that it happens the same time every year.  It is not related to the market - it is related to expiration dates set by MLS or government.

There are so many of us that I could not keep track of.

In our area, licenses are due on 4/30 & maybe people just won't renew. It would actually be nice.

This is a trend that comes and goes......it happened a lot in 08 as a lot of new agents couldn't make it in the biz at that time AND the older experienced agents said....I don't want to play in this market (and didn't need to as they had planned out for years how to financially stop working in the RE biz and rely on other sources of income.  Same is going on now in my market.  Some of them came back during the 08 mess was over and we'll see what happens this time around.

The market is continually working itself out. Some, not cut out for sales, leave when the market is hot! Some when the market is slow. Another day in the cycle.
