I just want to know I can if I want to. My position is to open up the country and let people decide what they want to do and what they don't.  That said, we all need to do the responsible things so if you don't feel safe... stay home. That's what I'm doing for now.

I'm not leaving my home for anything.  I cannot rely on others doing what is needed to keep our community safe but I can count on myself!

Travel on any holiday is not for me.  

Generally speaking, I am not a big travel fan - I like short trips near my home.

I'm comfortable road trppin' any day, flights, no way and Wuhan Virus or Not: Only amateurs and gluttons for punishment travel on the Big 3 of summer. Higher prices, more traffic, crowded destination and more cops on the road.

I never travel with the herd on vacations, I'm an off season and thread the needle kind of traveler.

I don't think many places are open.  If I did go somewhere it would be to Carmel, Napa, Solvang or some place like that.  Something driveable.  But as far as I'm aware, hotels are still shut and so are any vacation destination items.

But given what I'd be leaving undefended at home and that my dog boarding place likely isn't open... it's a no-go for me.

I would but there's no where to go (i.e. no one wants a visitor from NY!).  :(

     We are planning a road trip to South Carolina / North Carolina soon, but not on Memorial Day weekend.  I am taking the obvious precautions like making sure motels and gas stations are open.  We carry an ample supply of food everytime we take a highway trip, so restaurants closed or open won't matter.   

      Last week I drove over to White Springs (about 100 miles each way from Tallahasssee.  It was nice with so little traffic on the roads.

Yes, with some exceptions. I would stay away from hot spots, NY, Ct, RI and MA. I would fly to an island if they were allowing that. But as nothing is really open, i will be staying home. NH has left all its tourist industry closed to keep away vistors from those hot spots, so we can not even enjoy our own beaches here in NH. 

No, I would not go anywhere on Memorial Day. I cancelled my Spring Break vacation plans. My next attempt will be Summer Vacation in August.

Our River is gonna be SLAMMED this holiday.

The only difference is that folks will be camped out that do not have second homes . . . vacation rentals and our local hotels will fill to capacity . . . RV parks will too. The casino-resorts remain shuttered. It's tragic, really.

They are already here enjoying the weather and that we are opening up for business . . .

I have to say we are staying in, we cancel 2 vacations already this year.  Hoping to do Yellowstone in September and Steamboat in November

I can't remember the last time I travelled on Memorial Day weekend... it must be decades... so doesn't matter if I'm comfortable or not... I just don't do it. :)

We tend not to travel on the big holidays unless it's to visit family in LA. Not planning to go anywhere Memorial Day.

Sure - we're thinking of going up north to cool country. Driving most likely.

If there was anywhere to go, I'd drive, make most of my own meals, and stay away from crowds.

But there's nowhere I want to go on Memorial Day weekend. In fact, I didn't even realize it was almost here!

No. We probably won't even be taking our scheduled last week of August trip. I'll be letting others go test the public waters for awhile and see how they all do before I venture out.
