The price of everything is going up in my state (CA) ... gas prices are climbing so fast - no surprise there.  

Price increases are alive and well on Amazon too. Month over month the prices keep going up. Up. Up and Away!

Yes, big time.  In fact the price of EVERYTHING has gone up.  I have seen items with a 25% increase, 50%, and sadly 100% and above as well.

The racks for  common 2x4 and 2x6 boards, and 4x4 posts are empty in both Lowe's and Home Depot.   The local mill that I went to is back-ordered.

Enough to make me hold off on building a deck and a couple of other projects.  I can't see it going down to where it was a year ago, either.  The stores are getting the high prices so why would they lower them?

Unfortunately that raise is mostly in the stores, the price of timber has not experienced a significant jump.

I just heard that prices over all have gone up across the board. We haven't seen price increases like this in the last 8 years. Gas jumped over $1 gallon on Maui since we have a new President. A 2x4 on Maui did cost $3.54 for a stud, now we are looking at $7.54 for the same stud.

A piece of plywood has skyrocketed. The cost of a 2x4 has more than doubled in the past 3 years. The average cost of lumber to build a modest home has increased by $30,000 and continues to climb as demand has soared with pandemic renos and home building.
