You mean you need to clean the phone? I'm on the jump plan with T-Mobile so I usually have a new phone every 18 months or so and have never worried about cleaning.

I usually get a new phone before I need to scrub files. I too thought you meant the outside cleaning.

I am glad that I am not the only one that was going to say soap and water, haha. I guess you mean cleaning out old files, spam, cookies, etc. but I don't know much at all about that stuff and don't have that sort of cleaner for my phone. I am interested in hearing what we should be doing routinely though, so I will check back. My guess is Craig Daniels knows more about this.

Sometimes I feel installing more apps on a device for this kind of maintenance tends to add to the bloat when your task at hand is to keep your device more lean and purged. I often will go into settings and app list and check out and clean from that list (usually it sorts by biggest apps first). Delete the apps you don't need. You can also choose for some apps (like your browser, I use chrome) to clear cache and/or clear storage and that gives it fresh start. HTH cc: Brian England

I like BleachBit. It was good enough for hillary to use to wipe her unsecured email server.

I have an android. I believe the weekly maintenance which is set up to run does just that. After it runs it directs me to what needs to be done ...which for the most part involves deleting cache files and restarting the phone.
