No, I don't... using terms like self-serving and hateful does nothing to advance the cause of vaccinations. Virtually all vaccinations in our history have been a personal choice.  I don't know why those who have been vaccinated (as I have been) are going crazy over this issue. (I'm not). At the end of the day, I'm protected. If people who choose not to get vaccinated get sick and/or die, so be it... they made that decision. I have not time to waste my sympathy on them.

And let's not forget about people who already have natural immunity because they have had the virus or those who have underlying medical conditions that make the vaccine high risk for them. Are we calling them self-serving and hateful?

When you have all the "EXPERTS" changing their opinions depending on which way the wind is blowing it becomes difficult for some to make that decision.

Soon the government will tell everyone when they may exhale!

I found your comment to be exactly what the problem is now in this country. We can't point fingers or take sides. If I wanted to live in a country that told me what to do and say, I could move to that island off the coast of South Florida.

No.  How about we stop focusing on "vaccinations" and focus on who and what lead this virus to be transmissable to humans and for it to spread worldwide unchecked for months before locking Wuhan down...  Let's focus on why Fauci's NIH redefined the Gain of Function research at the Wuhan lab so it didn't need to go through internal oversight.

Let's focus on what ACTUALLY MATTERS, holding Xi Jinping, Fauci and the NIH responsible for their actions (or lack thereof).

No legal mandates can be made except by private businesses until such time as the vaccine is fully approved by the FDA, that hasn't happened yet.

That being said, it's foolish not to be vaccinated that this point in my opinion.

Right now, the mixed messaging, ignorance, hypocrisy, lack of common sense, faith, brotherly love, power grabs, emotional rhetoric, and the complete lack of honesty, transparency and closure keeps me in charge for me and my own 100%. I am reminded of this: America, life, and planet earth if properly stewarded would be a paradise. The many problems that exist today are not only solvable but deliberate in their existence. "It is hateful and self serving"
When one states such an opinion, it makes it hard to get the real opinion of others This is the echo chamber syndrome, you only hear from agreeing voices..
A smarter approach is announcing that FREE shots will end on Aug 31, and vaccines will cost $160. The antivaxers have these choices:
1. get the FREE shot
2. prepare to pay 3 million for a double lung transplant. This could ruin your families finances..FOREVER and one's health will never fully recover for those hospitalized.
3. Know that covid IS going to get you. From those who are vaccinated (the vaccinated do get covid they just don't go the the hospital), and give covid to the antis.

Or the CDC, those guys who had the authority to shut down the economy of a nation, could simply compel the FDA to give the vaccine the stamp of apporval?
Failure to do so gives those who argue 'experimental' all the ammunition the need. And coupled with all the expert 'flip-flopping' and the "
It is hateful and self serving" argument loses some steam, except in the echo-chamber.
So what's the approval hold up?
"
It is hateful and self serving" hmmmm.

What I feel so many people are missing here is that certain vaccinations are not a clear-cut "choice".

Choosing to get a Polio vaccine is more of a clear-cut choice.  Why?  Because your decision to not get one doesn't affect the well being of everyone else around you because POLIO IS NOT CONTAGIOUS.

Other vaccines are a little bit more of a matter of choice because they are not AS contagious, but can be somewhat mitigated by refined activity like Hepatitis, measles, mumps, and sexually transmitted diseases.

But in this particular case we are talking about an AIRBORNE CONTAGION that is EXTREMELY potent from a transmission standpoint - especially now that we have developed variants that are 70 times as transmissable.

So in this respect, you have a duty as a citizen to not only think about your personal health, but how your choice affects the risks and health of everyone else around you.  The COVID vaccine is not simply a matter of personal choice.  It goes hand-in-hand with how your choice puts everyone else at risk, and how your choice affects how quickly we can get over this pandemic.

It's VERY much a communal choice, much like taxes.  Can we all choose to pay no taxes at all and live a libertarian life?  Of course.  But with that choice, there would be no roads, no bridges, no public schools, no public parks, no mass transportation - NOTHING good would come of that decision for our society in general.

We all live in SOCIETIES.  Sometimes decisions are hard, but nonetheless can't always be made from a "I am my own island" standpoint when you live in a SOCIETY in which you and everyone else has benefitted from.

I was one of the first to be vaccinated once it was open to my age group.  And, most of my entire family has been vaccinated.  That being said, I am against government mandates to be vaccinated. But, how would you feel being immune compromised, unable to take the vaccine, and then being hospitalized where some nurses, and health care workers had refused to take the vaccine, putting you at risk?

I do wish everyone would decide that the war is against this virus, not each other, and especially should not be a weapon for politicians to use against each other.

I remember when we had the polio vaccine come on the scene in 1955.  Fortunately, we had President Eisenhower who rallied the people as if we were going to war against a foreign invader.  Because of it, we no longer hear of polio.  Ditto for the small pox vaccine.  Unfortunately, we didn't have that luxury this time around, as the vaccine was seen as a political weapon to divide us, at a tremendous cost of life to our people!

No. However, some employers have issued mandates and more will so so in the future.

Regardless of our personal opinions, we need to recognize that anti-vaccination messages can adversely impact business relationships, referrals and agent selections.

Today, Veterans Affairs became the first federal agency to mandate vaccines for its workforce. Employees must be vaccinated within eight weeks.
