Granite and Quartz are still front runners. 

If there is anything new, I am not aware of it. 

I have been toying with the idea of stained concrete for a good while now, some of the coolest riverfronts have them along with stamped concrete flooring . . . I cook and clean so much that granite is just not practical for me but it still turns heads in our res market. 

Granite, Quartz and Quartzite are popular. Laminate has come a long way with more than 200 choices, is used often here as a builder standard. Marble and Corian, not so much any more. 

Quartz and granite here in the mid to high range. Soapstone is sometimes seen in our luxury homes but, buyers tend to gravitate more to quartz. 

Corian cannot tolerate hot pots - shows burns and stains very easily. We see that in our lower end homes here and on the rare occasion, formica.

Granite and quartz are top runners here.

Quartz is the best option in our area.

Granite, natural stone. Do not see corian anymore.

Corian is dead. Granite & Quartz still going strong. Do not see any concrete counters any more.

Stylestone has been around for a while as well.  And while Corian might not be popular, it is NOT mid grade, it's a far superior product and more expensive.  It lasts longer, looks new longer and holds up to use much better than granite or quartz 

I see a lot of quartz rather than granite or marble.  I prefer quart as it's easy care.

Formica and Corian are in the distant past. Marble not so much! Granite and quartz are the popular tops of the day.

If you have the money, it opens up much possiblities. For those of us that don't, Corian, granite, ceramic tile will have to do. R.I.P formica agreed Peter Mohylsky. Broker -BRIX REALTY 

We have granite and quartz products at the high end.  Middle range we see tile with extreme low formica.

we see a lot of marble in bathrooms locally and silestone in kitchens.  But I 100% will always prefer corian for myself personally. Granite remains the most popular and I'd never have it.  A friend who JUST redid her kitchen already has a couple of chips and cracks.  Nope, natural stone just doesn't hold up as well other materials.  

I've also see a couple of glass and stainless steel, not my personal taste, but it was certainly different.

Marble look Quartz.  Haven't seen ANYTHING else in years.

Granite and Quartz are the ones we see most, but have seen concrete also.   You still see laminite in the lower end condos/townhomes.

I might be "get off my lawn" guy but granite still looks the best to me.

I haven't seen anything new. Quartz is first and granite is still a top contender.

I have seen a few homes with beautiful wood top islands but only a few.
