Florida, Texas and Arizona come to mind along with Idaho.  Basically any place that cares more for the people than woke politics.

Born in California and have lived here my entire life.

As far as I am concerned, no City in the State of California would be the best place to live.

I would not return to California, and I am thinking Oregon is not the best place either with the latest laws going down. I love where I live, but I don't love what is happening to my state. The best place to live in ten years will be where they recognize private property rights, the bill of rights, the constitution, and the true history of our nation.

It's much easier for me to name the 10 worst cities to live in ten years from now. Best is such a personal concept... what is best to one is not best to another. I'm sure Santa Clarita is lovely, but  you couldn't pay me enough to live in California.

Good that you like where you live, but California is not for everyone, the weather may be beautiful but quality of life is more important to me personally and you couldn't pay me to go there. The best place for me to live ten years from now will be near my children and grandchildren, wherever that leads us.

In my lifetime, I have seen cities change drastically, from good to not so good, to great.  Las Vegas and New York City come to mind.  Smaller places that I used to like, I don't care to go back to.  Can't even say why.  Maybe they aren't changing with the times.  Carmel-by-the-Sea where I have my brokerage, used to be quaint, then it became known internationally and tourists flocked in from all over the world. Then came COVID and hardly any international people, but a lot of drive traffic from the Bay area.  Many of them are buying here and in Pebble Beach now.  What do they see when they buy their multi million dollar homes, and that's what it takes? Are they buying for NOW, or for 10 years down the road?  I have a feeling for NOW.  And that's my point.  Why waste valuable time here on earth buying into an area that you think will be "the best place to live" at some point in the future?  We had COVID to change our thinking; what's next?  And I don't believe things will get back to "normal".  Whatever or whenever that was.

Eeenie meenie chili beanie, the spirits are about to speak!

Are they friendly spirits?

LOL CA might be in the ocean in 10 years . . .

Seriously who's got a crystal ball?

But I hope you still love your town in 10 years, sincerely.

I suspect it could actually be somewhere in Idaho or Wyoming.

It depends on what "best" looks like to you. We love living in NC and there aren't very many places we'd "choose" to live. However, a lot can happen in 10 years.

Every place has it 'stuff.'
Every four years that place get it's stuff whitewashed.
So who do I think will have 'stuff' I can tolerate and not go headline.
.... Tidioute Pa comes to mind. In 10 years if it get there the population including me would be 1,701. They celebrate and respect 'why' people choose to live there. The same applies to 'any city', Alaska.
The PREPPER in me says a decommissed silo in Wyoming is not a bad idea.
But the lazy in me says I work hard to create my happiness where I am. I'll stay put.

Depends how long the current administration and liberal, recklessly spending (the former I have no issue with, the latter infuriates me) leadership is in place in some of the best places to live weather and geology wise.

If we continue down the path we're on, probably Des Moines, Iowa, or somewhere in the midwest with crops and water - the things CA won't have in short order if it doesn't get it's proverbial $hit together soon
