Maybe a name change is in progress - perhaps Price Chopper.   It kinda keeps the tree theme in mind.  I have read they had a somewhat upscale path in progress with another retail format long before this news came along.  Yes, retail constantly changes too.

I am not surprised.  We had to see it coming. Someone recently said to me that Two Buck Chuck is now $3.00.  I don't drink it but am aware of it.

Prices are increasing.  I was in Whole Foods today. I see increases across the board. I also see a shortage of fresh organic veggies even organic frozen veggies.

Hello Fred Griffin Florida Real Estate with the current inflation, it is appropriate to change the name to Two Dollar Tree.

It really had started already as many items did not contain the same amount of product as before essentially increasing the price in a more inconspicuous way.

Maybe they will be the Dollare and a Half Tree Store.

Yes,I do remember the 5 and Dime Store downtown where I was growing up many years ago.

We use to have a good dollar store, but it is now a rare find to get anything for a dollar.

They said items under $5.00. So do they now need to call themselves "Less'n a fin"?

I realize doubling the price of something is huge, however I believe it is still a bargain compared to what other shops sell for.  They'll be fine and so will we.

There is the Under 5 store so I believe it will be OK. People will just have to get used to it.

Good question, Fred. I'd been wondering that myself. I've always loved looking for a bargain at Dollar Tree.

Rats! That means when I return from the Dollar store and show off my find, my response to 'What did it cost?" will be variable.
In the meantime, with what is approachig 15 TRILLION in deficit spending the cost of EVERYTHING will go up, Up and UP.
Those Trump tarriffs on China imports that were to expire in phase two, I'm betting, will be extended and increased by the Dems to get more money.
Middle class is on the endangered species list.

The Dollar Store already had items prices well over $1.00. Our closest Dollar Tree is still selling everything for $1.00, but I don't know how they do that and stay in business. Maybe they'll just change their advertising to " Where All Prices Start at $1.00" ? Dollar Tree has many products that I'd gladly pay $2.00 for.

The Dollar Tree has matured but still has great pricing on many items. Can't imagine a name chane to the $1.25, $2.00 or $4.00 store!
