No I have not seen this at all. Are people getting squeezed - yes - and all this was preventable.

Around here, $10 will not by 2 gallons of Premium gas, which is what my cars demand. Can't go to far on that small amount of fuel.

No I have not observed such a phenomenon.

I must presume that a WaWa is a gas station.  Not familiar with WaWa.

I have not noticed.  What I see is $80-$120 in my area.  $6.15/gal for Premium and that is at an ARCO station which tends to be the least expensive gas in my area.

As for some people being squeezed. Too many are being more than squeezed - and getting crushed.  It is only going to get worse.  Hold on to your hat and your coat, it's going to be a wild ride.

Unfortunately too many bad decisions being made by those at the top! They are all wealthy and will not suffer through this like the average American. Example: NP and her $24,000 refrigerator and $13 a pint ice cream...👀

Somewhere somebody is always getting squeezed, unfortunately many consumers are these days.

No, I haven't noticed.

No WaWa near me. I buy my gas at Harris Teeter or Sam's Club most of the time... have yet to see small amounts on the display from a buyer ahead of me.

WaWa was big in Florida, but not here in Chicago! That said, many pumps have those amounts displayed. Must have purchased regular because at premium prices, $5 won't buy a gallon and  $10 won't buy 2. And, unlike John Juarez I am not in California!

Unless they're dollar cost averaging their fill-ups.  Buy $5 or $10 every couple of days so hopefully things average out lower?  I don't get it either.  No, I have not seen that.  I'm seeing $70 and $80 fill-ups for me though.  Not looking forward to filling up the beemer which takes premium.  Thankfully, that's probably a way off.

Did see some good videos on how to make a DIY solar charger for an electric car and take that off-grid.  Not that I have an EV, but Corvette is coming out with a partial one and then a full one.  Not sure how I feel about that, but may give the partial a shot if it still looks like the drop-dead gorgeous current mid-engine model.

Trying to fit these increases into a budget gets tougher every day. Some people have to choose whether to eat or drive. Adjustments are par for the course and it did not have to be this way. I see the squeeze but it's more like a pinch at every turn.

I haven't looked. Someone posted her a picture of her gas purchase while at the pump on FB the other day and it was $105. At first I thought she was posting her weight. I had to take a second look.😂

No WaWa here on the beach and I haven't noticed the $5/$10 BUT have not really been looking that closely.

I do sometimes only put in $5 or $10 if I need gas and am not near either of my preferred stations so I can get to the closest top tier station. And I usually pay cash, don't trust using a card due to skimmers, so if I'm low on cash I will put in enough to get me to my bank's ATM.

I've done this in an emergency when you have to get gas & it's a total rip off. If I was with a client, I would just fill up & bite the bullet.

$5 doesn't get you very far.

Another member here used to show his fill up $$ amounts when prices were first going up - all over $70.

NO, the contrary - I see 100+ fillups routinely and my last 2 truck fillups were 85 and 90 respectively and I get a fuel discount!

In fairness, many RVs and boats drink up a lotta gas around here, but I'd imagine there too!
I WONDER IF those 5-10 were to fill gas cans?
