I have never been audited and I hope that I never get audited, although I don't think I have anything to worry about, haha.

      My last "audit" was by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, Division of Real Estate.  They were in Tallahassee for one week doing random audits.  I was first up at 8:00AM on a Monday morning.  FOUR auditors were in my home office (3 of them were being trained).  Let us see your listing contracts for the past two years, let's see your agency disclosure forms, let's see this and let's see that.

   I passed it with flying colors!

 

To your question about IRS, never.

The unemployment department audited me once.  I had fired a secretary and apparently she told them I had LOTS of employees I didn't pay taxes for.  Turned out they weren't "employees", but agents.... so zero violations found and all was well.  Never had that issue with the IRS.
