I am observing what a billionaire does or does not do and I must say I am not impressed. Spending money because you can is a shallow premise. What did he purchase for 44 billion? Methinks the joke is on him. He could have started his own platform for a few million and spent more millions in advertising and marketing to build it up even recruiting the best in the business all for way under 100 million with tax write off too! As for the users? Today, one can now go anywhere to socialize online, and they do not need to be loyal to any one source or platform. The twitter idea has been spent. Today, more than ever, people are still asking: What's in it for me?

😂 I never go on Twitter - it doesn't exist in my world as far as: I don't engage family, friends nor clients there. I do not go there for information. I have a front account there the literally gets posts from a service I use.
I never get sucked in or care what's being said there, it's no more than the comic strip I don't read or a reality tv show I don't watch.
Same with Tik Tok, never seen it nor do I even bother to have an account there since I don't know many 12 year-olds buying houses.

What real estate "performance" on Twitter? I send my blog posts there as a habit but I don't expect anything from Twitter.

Honestly, it isn't one of my main tools so I wouldn't know the difference. I started out on T because my sons soccer coach used it to update parents. I kept it and it really hasn't done much for me. Has it been useful for you Andrew!

I know people that have at least 3 twitter accounts. ( one for personal, one for podcast, one for website) To me, I just don't think it would be worth the time it takes to keep up with it.

I have never used Twitter for real estate.  I never felt it was the right medium to attract buyers or sellers.  I don't have any proof either way, it was just a gut feeling.

Too soon to tell. Elon Musk sure is getting a lot of attention, Twitter is breaking usage records almost daily since the purchase. The $8 per month may be worth it!

I only used Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn to publicize my WordPress blog posts.  I got no business benefit from Twitter or LinkedIn and have closed my business accounts.  I got a little business from Facebook and some customer reviews but it was never significant. I have also closed my Facebook business account, and Tumblr, Pinterest.

I am leaving all of the centralized big tech arrogance, disrespect, data snooping, and corruption behind. There are next generation decentralized open source products available.

Many Twitter users have moved on to decentralized Mastodon.  I have a pseudonym account used for education, not for biased "news", politics, gossip, entertainment news, trivia.

I would not have spent 44 billion on Twitter. Then again I did not start Tesla or Space X and I did not have it to spend. It is too soon to judge because many media giants are predicting doom because it only helps them! Look at the government push for electric vehicles! When did that happen?

I'm curious about the second part of your question, does anyone ever had any productive ''real estate performance'' on twitter? I'd love to have a link to that account! :) As for a takeover, I do not see any positive outcomes. It is the same big toxic waste dump, maybe even more toxic.

I closed my Twitter account  when I found out they were shadow banning most conservative voices. But when Elon Musk agreed to purchase the company I signed up again and spend more time on twitter than I do anywhere else. As far as real estate business goes, It too early to say since everything leads back to my website and all I can see is more traffic.

Inna Ivchenko ... the best folks to hear from on ActiveRain Real Estate Network are the ones using a platform and how they have squeezed out success for their market. Twitter moves in real time and responses to tweets, retweets are part of the rubbing elbows.

You get a lot of "I don't use Twitter" and "I've never used Twitter" on the same page and just not weaving it into their marketing mix, Your home grown local content should be salt and peppered in lots of places.

I find videos on Twitter do well and after new uploads, Twitter is one of the round robin worth doing. Stay tuned on if that platform improved from the big shake up. Tune out the negativity and take advantage of any opportunity works best with an open mind.
