Wow, that is kind of crazy that someone reported the question as spam, there are definitely some jerks in the Rain but also some really wonderful people too.  To be honest, I am not sure what Mesa, AZ is famous for, other than maybe Spring Training baseball.  The weather is usually amazing, so that is probably what it should be famous for, among other things.

Wenatchee, Washington is only "famous" as the Apple Capital of the World, but we have lots of other things to be proud of. This month's Challenge will give you insight into why a lot of us love our hometowns.

Kalispell MT here. We are known for all the outdoors - Flathead Lake, Glacier National Park, 250+ other lakes, rivers/streams, hiking galore, skiing galore, biking, swimming, yachting, fishing, elk, deer, bear, turkey, coyotes, wolf, fox, and on and on!

The St. George, Utah region is well known for its year-round outdoor recreation plus 13 golf courses and proximity to several state parks, including Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon and The Grand Canyon. 

Carlsbad is known for our beaches, the Flower Fields, Legoland and the Omni La Costa Resort and Spa. I would add the TGIF Concerts in the Parks in the summers (25+ years) and our multiple arts fairs. And the Carlsbad Marathon.

Lyons, Colorado is known for its music festivals.  There are several every year, the most prominent of them is our blue grass festival.  The St. Vrain River also runs through town allowing for recreation such as kayaking, tubing and fly fishing.  Beautiful area!

I live in Cary which is a suburb of Raleigh. Raleigh is the City of Oaks. I had to look up what Cary is known for and got a few different answers.

1) Known for being an educational center as it had the first state funded High School and now has one of, if not the highest percentage of higher educated residents (under grad, masters and phds).

2) Known for its expansive walking trail system and parks. (That was my guess)

3) Known for the world class businesses that have come to Cary and nearby RTP. (Two being SAS and Epic Games)

4) Know of being a safe city.

5) Known to be a smart city/technology town.

*The first time I heard about this town was about SAS Institute which helped put Cary on the map. Cary was growing due to the businesses choosing Cary as their headquarters. It will be interesting to see what rises to the top when people think of Cary. More companies are choosing Cary for its headquarters. The town of Cary is building a world class destination park in Downtown to add to the many parks and walking trails that already exist. One of the largest commercial "live, work, play" shopping districts just opened in Cary. There's a major soccer tournament coming to town this summer and Cary is on the short list for the US Soccer headquarters. 

With all that's happening in Cary, I hope people still remember it for it's kind people, town charm, and the safe city it has been.

What is Kenosha, Wisconsin famous for?  Mammoths, electric streetcars, a cheese castle, automotive history including the AMC Gremlin, The Garbage Plate, Orson Welles, Mark Ruffalo, and being the 50 yard line of the Packers and Bears rivalry.  Oh and the Kenosha area is filled with interesting and unique historical places, including the United States oldest operating velodrome (bicycle racing track), the oldest continuously operating lunch car diner in the U.S., and the 1920 ballpark where the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League team Kenosha Comets.

Gaithersburg is noted for its ethnic and economic diversity. The quality of life makes Gaithersburg a favorite area for families relocating to the Metro Area of Washington, DC. 

We've had quite a few movies and many westerns filmed out here.  We have the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library.  We were routinely the #1 or #3 safest city in America for many, many years in a row.

It's funny you should as on the day our city of Santa Clarita, California was listed as the number nine happiest places to live in the entire United States of America.  We are best know for hosting Six Flags Magic Mountain.

My response for the February challenge was about where I live now - and have for decades. My hometown of Passaic, NY however, is famous for the Shirelles, The Wonder Team, Loretta Switt, birthplace of the cathode ray tube (for the earliest TVs), and more. 

Pizza, Bagels, Cheesecake, Statue of Liberty, Wall Street, the Village, The United Nations HQ, etc... way too long too list everything NYC is famous for.
