In a city that does not enforce law! The Mayor cannot honor his sanctuary status or cancel it and allows those invaders into the suburbs so they can change density laws next.  Come to Florida while it's still a free state.  Fair Housing already takes care of this issue without another protected category class.

What else? Do people who wear jogging suits need protection for proper attire in restaurants or airplanes? Can people get protection from "no shirt, no shoes, no service'? Remember, it's New York so it has to be silly!

Fred Griffin Florida Real Estate - I would hate to be in an owner's shoes of a rental, or AirBnB and learn an obese person (now under the protected class) fell along with other people who were all together on an outside second floor porch and the the porch collapsed because it exceeded weight, or stuck on an elevator for that reason, or had an obese renter get stuck in the shower or tub, doorway, fell through the attic floor, etc. All liability would fall on the owner for not conforming to accommodations, is what I would guess. But then again, I am not a lawyer. I guess raising the rental insurance for obese people per pound would be against the law now too. 

It means I need to pray harder.  

I can understand the Job discrimination issue and honestly didn't think you could use height/weight as a reason not to hire someone. I'm wondering what the particular issue is with housing. I didn't realize people were having an issue finding housing based on height/weight. Is that a particular issue for NYC? I suppose some of the older buildings could have narrow stairs or elevators have weight limits. Is this for a small percentage of the population or is there a big issue? 

That aside, I feel bad for people who have to deal with obesity. I hope the medical community can find real answers for why some people gain weight and can't lose weight and correct it vs. just do surgery or just give weight loss medicine.

Doesn't transporting obese people use more energy, so it's bad for the environment?

Wow!  How in the world did something like that become a protected class? Being fat has no equivalence to race, sex, marital status or religion. I don't get it.

While some people have medical problems that add weight to their bodies, others are gluttonous, eating unhealthy foods day in and day out, at night, without any personal responsibility. Glamorizing or encouraging obesity is reckless, unhealthy and disgusting.

Another law as an answer? Mankind cannot live by law alone. In the absence of not knowing what to do, humility, charity and help visit. Welcome those

People still need to be qualified to be hired. Whether they are fat should not really be an issue (even though, for many, it is)

The answer to your question is pretty clear based on the new law. Property managers, AirBNB operators and other business will not be able to discriminated based on height or weight.

When all is said and done New York will be a ghost town. The level of foolishness and crime and now migrants . . .

They deserve the same accommodations as everyone else but .... can they fit in them? Seats in general are manufactured for various type people & sizes.

There's a TON of money to be made by not addressing the elephant in the room --- lifestyle changes.  If people were to truly get healthy, the healthcare, pharma, and food industries would all take a large hit.  

This is part of a slippery slope toward the decline of our country that we've been on for decades.
