I have ZERO regrets on ANY vinyl I purchased! 

NOW having said that . . . my sister rest her soul had 'different' taste in music than I in many ways. She gifted me a Pat Benatar album which I never ever expressed any admiration or interest in. (She's talented, just not my jam!) 

I kept it for a long time . . . and not long ago I donated it. 

My music has all your picks plus everything from 999, Brian Auger's Oblivion Express, EVERY Coop and ACDC, on and on and on, just like a good retired DJ I have many promotional copies and compilations . . . to the latest Extreme and Paul Rodgers!

I rarely purchased albums and later rarely purchased CDs.  I would not be embarrassed by any of my purchases. 

My record collection in the 60s and 70s reflected the popular songs and artists of the time. Nothing embarrassing as far as I am concerned.

I would not be embarrassed to admit purchasing any album I own. Thinking of finally letting go of some due to the resurgence of interest in vinyl and have some that are quite collectable, but likely will keep the Beatles White album.

Well, personally I'm not embarrassed about anything I've purchased. I love all my music. Professionally I'm embarrassed as a DJ I was forced to buy The Macarena!!! But, in the spirit of your question Bob "RealMan" Timm I'll volunteer this album as very off-brand for my music taste (which is typically classic rock-hard rock-heavy metal): I'm a huge Katy Perry Fan! And I love playing this song on my drums.

I am not embarrassed by any of the craziness in my MP3/album collection.  I have Shatner, I have Nimoy, both solo and together.  I have some seriously odd stuff from overseas, some way too catchy stuff from Mexico (like Asejere by Las Ketchup).  Heck, I even have... the official song of the California Highway Patrol... and no, it's not the theme to CHiPs, which I also have and has even come one randomly (back in the  iPod shuffle days) when CHP motor units were nearby.

Now with that said, I may not play some of them in certain public spaces... but I'm not ashamed of any of them.

Wow I have the album with Sugar Shack on it and even the 4 seasons in the day, I am old.

About the only album that I remember ever having wasted money on was Kiss, back in the 70's.

"Tip-Toe thru the Tulips" by Tiny Tim.  I never opened it and it had a 99 cent sticker on it.  I had it for almost 50 years and I gave it away with all my vinyl.

No regrets here, I wish I still had them.  I am open to offers. 

I had two large boxes of vinyl in my basement that I haven't played in years.   I know they have new turntables, and probably should get one, and gets those out.   No regrets on any vinyl back in those days.   However, I was one that bought the Monkeys!

What a great question and what a great read! We just pulled out a box of 33s from our closet a few days ago and wondered if we should get rid of it as we don't have a player but instead we stuck it back in the closet and will be looking for something to play them on.

I don't remember whether I bought anything I would now be embarrassed about. I do remember my favorite albums where I learned every single word of every single song. Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon, Elton John's Greatest Hits, Jim Croce's Greatest Hits and music by Heart, Journey and more. My love of music totally expanded and now I like a lot more genres - I've got a pretty eclectic taste.

This is one time I'm glad I'm late to the party because now I have some new songs to find and listen to!!

It's been 40+ years since I purchased an album... so have no recollection. I'm in the same camp as Wayne Martin, although I probably did purchase an album or two in the late 60's. 

Funny topic and funny answers!  I can't think of any that I would mention either.... too long ago.

No regrets in purchases here, Bob but my little sister got a turntable along with several 45's for Christmas. One record was Quarterflash - Harden My Heart.

Too many times, I envisioned stepping out the back door with it in my hand after her playing it non-stop and sending it off like a frisbee!

Youth and it's ways. There is no explaining them. I am glad that they are now auld lang syne or times gone by. Those people you mentioned were drug addicts, abusers of the self & had no foundation to build on except a fad or popular moment, now turned to dust. I was there & then, thank God in the highest that I moved on

Are those are LPs? We have a large collection and a nice sound studio. I love all our LPs! .....but I do not listen to any radio:)

I'm from the cassette tape era. I don't recall purchasing albums. I had some 45s. I mostly purchased cds. I honestly don't recall any that are embarrassing.

My favorite band is Styx and the album that cause the band to break up waa "Kill Roy was here" ! By far not the best choice!
