I am with Miss Nina Hollander, Broker - I tend to my small plants on my patio, which is enough for me.

I do buy all organic produce at Whole Foods.  What "organic" means these days,.. we do not know. Yet there is a premium we pay for the label.

If I had more time for gardening, I would grow all I could eat. Right now, I have oregano, rosemary, mini roses, thornless blackberries and jalapeno peppers. I did try the cherry tomatoes, but no success there.

No across the board this year Andrew Mooers | 207.532.6573 HOWEVER this is the first year ever we decided to let our garden go dormant. I wanted to give the earth a rest and totally analyte the weeds that return stronger every year. This fall I will till in nutrients and prepare it for great things in 2025.

I have been TRYING for many years, it is extremely challenging to grow food in our extreme temps and with our mineral rich soil . . . right now I am starting zucchini, peppers, lettuce and tomatoes inside to see if they will survive the summer, then they can go into the greenhouse. No problem with indoor plants, and I have sunflowers growing outside! Zone 10B is a CHALLENGE!

I live in a condo and have grown basil on my terrace.  Only one year the plant thrived.  No luck since.  Loving your photos and happy you are organic.  Wish I could visit you for your harvest Andrew Mooers | 207.532.6573 😎

My husband was the green thumb in our family. He had a Phd in horticulture, so it was definitely a passion for him. We had a pear orchard, and he planted a large garden of all kinds of good things. Now, I live in a place with a very small yard. I have 2 blueberry bushes, thanks to my brother who is a blueberry farmer, and a pot of cherry tomatoes. That's the extent of my gardening abilities, except for watering my flower pots.

I have a garden and a greenhouse, but definitely a lot smaller garden than yours! I am currently growing: radishes (flowering now), turnips, beets, carrots, peppers, potatoes, garlic, brussel sprouts, green beans, spinach (flowering), tomatoes, zucchini, cucumbers, cantaloupe, figs, chard, herbs. My eggplant did not grow this year so I won't have that, and I chose not to grow beans although I'm going to add those back next year.I've tried corn several times and onions too didn't have success. And I grew wheat which grew great, but you need so much to get enough to use for a while so I decided not to do that again. I think that's it! update: also have two apple trees that probably won't bloom until next year.

Awesome garden Andrew!   No gardening for me anymore.  I did years ago but it just hasn't been on my agenda.  I might take on a few herbs and spices in a window box.  That is fun to have fresh spices on hand when cooking.  And as for local farmers - absolutely.  We've been enjoying a lot of organic grown stuff , corn, potatoes, tomatoes etc.

This is my garden. If I had an outdoor garden, I'd probably do one in an above ground container so I don't have to kneel on my knees. I'd definitely grow tomatoes. I'd have to think about other vegetables. When I was a kid, my dad had a small garden in FL. He grew onion, squash, zucchini, bell peppers, okra, green beans, peppers, and of course tomatoes.

By the way, I do go to the Farmer's Market, we have a huge state farmers market where farmers and other vendors come from all over the state. It's July so I'll get peaches soon.

We have a small garden, with a great deal of competition from deer, woodchucks, rabbits, birds, bugs and even ants. Still the fresh cucumbers and tomatoes are the best!

My fresh produce comes from the Farmer's Market and has for years. As a youngster my Dad planted a garden. Other than tomatoes he had green beans and other things I don't remember.

Currently enjoying these things we grow: papayas; pineapples; pole beans; beets; chard; lettuce; various herbs; green peppers; leeks.  Much of this we can grow year round.  Unfortunately we can't grow those lovely potatoes that you can.

I've wanted to start one, but it's not something I have a strong enough desire to deal with, especially with the rabbits and my notorious "black" thumb.  I'm happy to shop the farmers markets, but I understand the importance of having my own "victory garden" with everything that's going on.

Thank you for staying true to your traditions and growing your food organically, Andrew Mooers | 207.532.6573. My Minnesota family are also farmers on a large scale plus dairy cows. My husband and I have a 50 x 50 foot garden, growing at least 30 different varieties of fruits and vegetables with an orchard and citrus trees. We pull weeds by hand and plan to build a greenhouse so we can eat fresh year round. I will start canning soon for our winter supply.

Dear Andrew,

Olga & I have similar gardens. I also grow deer, hornworms, grackles, chipmunks, wood chucks & whoever else comes by. Sometimes, I get a few strawberries, tomatoes, basil or any other leftovers. We have a great farmers market & lots of other gardeners in the community to make up the shortfall.
