The best business tip was from Lenn Harley, who encouraged me to become a broker. 

The masses in AZ and FL who taught us short sales 'back in the day' were pure godsends!

I immersed myself in learning short sales and then doing them. They took me to a whole new level in this business and I'm so thankful for the thoughtful, caring AR members who guided me. 

They never criticized me when I didn't make the right decision, they kindly coached me in the direction I needed to go. There were SO many who helped but, Bryant Tutas, "The Lovely Wife" The One And Only TLW. and   Wendy Rulnick were simply AMAZING!  

Just one would be hard. Eileen Burns suggesting I join the Chamber when I moved to Kalispell - only one deal directly from chamber marketing materials, but huge expansion in network which led to business. I don't know who suggested writing posts about neighborhoods and localism but I still get calls from those. Then there were suggestions about marketing materials, listing presentations and more. Really, I received many tips from AR interactions and from reading AR posts.

If I can only pick one, it would be a call from Bob Stewart shortly after I joined AR. One of my localism posts caught his eye, he commented on it then followed up with a long phone call about writing localism and evergreen posts. That was a turning point and I still get calls on posts that I wrote 10, 12 or more years ago.

I get my best results from talking to people on the phone.

I cannot choose just one. Yet I started learning SEO here in the Rain. It was just the start yet that is all it took to get the website ranking.  

The continued emphasis on finding gold in your SOI has not been lost on me.

People want to do business with people they know. Press the flesh not only with potential clients but also with fellow agents. Do it often. 

If I just have to pick one I would say neighborhood posts with live search links.

Oh that's an easy one.  In the very early days I couldn't figure out how some brokers were getting ranked on goggle on first page over and over.  And then came ActiveRain.  I was astounded by quickly and easily my company got ranked on 100's of long tail seo searches as well as short tail.  The other brokers around town were shaking their heads as to just how I'd done that. Now everyone was asking me for ideas, rather than the other way around.  And as we all know the long tail searches do the trick to this day for niche marketing. 

A long, long, time ago, in a galaxy far, far away (at least what it feels like), the OG Blogging Bootcamp was a game changer for me.  While the strategies back then don't really work today with how much the paid adspace online has changed, the earlier days of SEO and being able to compete with the Zillows of the world as an individual was amazing.

I've also learned a lot just in conversations with incredible people like Margaret Rome (I guess we can't tag people in here anymore?) in terms of business philosophy and personal focus regardless of what the world around us does.

to be known as a commercial agent in the Fort Lauderdale market.  A buyer called me from a search for an 8 unit apartment building.  I asked how he heard about me and made him look at the tab that said active rain😎

Have gotten a lot of good, solid advice here but unsure if any of it directly related to making more money, Bliz. Broadening the knowledge base is priceless, though!
