The may call them referral fees but what they are trying to do is sell you leads.

Our internal relocation team is a total of 35% (30% to the referring agent)- but about 65% of of those referrals close as they are well vetted.

I don't buy into the random solicitations I receive throughout a typical week.

I was kicked off of the Streeteasy Experts referral program (owned by Zillow) because they wanted me to include all of the buildings I have sold in for the program- but it's not business I want to pursue- let alone business worthy of a massive referral fee to them should I receive any leads and close on them. As a result- they felt I wasn't allowing enough traffic for me to remain in the program.

I have been getting the inquiries from this company also.

Much lower referral fee, however they do have a huge set up fee and monthly fees.

I told them I was not interested in any scams .

The audacity. I cannot wrap my brain around it. Same reason I would never sign up with Zillow, what is their fee now? 40 or 45%? I wish we would collectively boycott them and remember our value. Without paying agents, Zillow would be much less relevant. But, I digress, this wasn't about Zillow. I haven't heard of the company you mentioned.

I am sure there is someone out there that is willing to pay a 33% referral fee but I cannot. Thank you for thinking of me.

Some corporate referral fees can go as high as 48%. Not uncommon if it's a well scrubbed lead for a motivated Buyer or Seller.

I'm willing to pay up to 35%. Some of the companies out there (including KW relo) charge up to 50% which is nuts.

My last sale the sellers rep had to pay 45% of the sale to the relo company.  I would like to make 45% by making a call.

Does not make sense for something like that.

I have paid up to 35% referral fee on a national account, one time. We closed that deal and he kept me. for other things. So that was worth it . . . and the referring broker has been valuable to me in other ways.

It's always about what makes sense.
Third party aggregators do not make sense.

Hello Leanne, yes to referral fees with a hesitant no lurking in the shadows. If clients knew we were using or referring to them for money's sake, something referral supports, they may not like that idea for various reasons. Also, the idea you can make $$$ with little or no effort by referring comes under scrutiny too. Real Estate is a multi-trillion-dollar industry, & as such, attracts people wanting their share of the funds. Let each one find their comfort Leanne Smith ...P.S. I have done it many times

Unless they were going to give me a $500 visa card for watching their presentation (anyone interested in a timeshare?), then it's not worth it to me.  As to the percentage, I'd tell them that the industry norm for a vetted and qualified lead is much less than that and they'd have to get in line otherwise they're going into the rubbish bin of history.

I am only interested in spending my time on a lead or referral that don't need a credit card and are paid at closing.  Anything above 25% is not acceptable to me.
