Many Baby Boomers were thrilled when the imaginary Red Baron joined Snoopy and the Peanuts gang cartoon characters created by Charles M. Schultz. The Red Baron was actually a real German fighter pilot named Manfred Albrecht von Richthofen who became the antagonist for Snoopy's battles as the World War 1 Flying Ace. Snoopy's imaginary battles against the Red Baron continued for several decades. You can look him up for more information. There was even a popular Snoopy vs. the Red Baron song.
