The Calgary Real Estate Board (CREB) announced yesterday that Calgary's Single Family, Average Selling price has hit a record. I think we all new it would happen, and it did; we have reached the half a million dollar mark.According to the statistics on the CREB website, the Average Selling price for a Single Family home in Calgary has peaked at $503,803 while the Median Sale Price in the past 30 days is $440,000. There have been 112 new listings in the last 24 hours which may have been a factor in the slight decrease in the Average Selling price today as it sits at $502,783.   I read once that "growth demands a temporary surrender of security."  In starting a new career at this stage in my life I have certainly surrendered all the security it has taken me years to build.  At one point in my life, I was like a small dingy in a huge ocean, lost and alone.    I promised myself that would never happen to me again and, as a result I built walls and barriers to protect myself.  I did not stray "out of the box" for fear that I would falter.  What has happened to change all that?  Last night the answer came to me during a conversation with my son.  I am finally working my passion, I am finally comfortable with my choices and I am finally able to let go and move "out of the box" and follow my heart.  In doing so, I have brainstormed and come up with a mission statem... 06/16/2007

One of the great things about Calgary is how nice the summers can be. We have some really great parks and pathway systems. With around 635 km of pathways it is no wonder so many people are out and about enjoying the great weather that we have. Something that I personally try to do each and every year is to take the weekend and enjoy the Calgary Folk Music Festival. This event at Princes Island Park is a four day event that features 67 artists this year. It takes place from July 26-29 and is entirely outside with multiple stages. Musicians come from all over the world and they come from just about all music genres.
