Robert Vegas Bob Swetz's first visit to Alaska was back in 2001. And back in 2001 land with some homes owners couldn't give away. But now on 2nd visit to AK in the last month, I have been studying the RE market in the northern hemisphere. Homes in Anchorage and other parts of AK are just straight out expensive. Rent is "Out of this World" expensive, over twice as high for rent then Las Vegas Nevada.  Gas is more expensive then Vegas, furniture, soda, etc. Along with that, Alaska doesn't have sales tax, but after checking prices down in Vegas vs Alaska, just about everything is marked up 10% higher then Vegas.
