Alabama New Home Yr-End Report:       Sales up 5.8% in 2013; All metro markets experience positive sales growth Well, after a rough start in 2014 due to the crazy weather, here is how 2013 ended up. December home sales slipped 1.8 percent from the same period a year earlier, but for the second consecutive year, Alabama new home sales have experienced growth from the prior year. In 2013, sales were up 5.8 percent. In 2012, sales were up 7.2 percent, which is much better than declines of 13.0 percent in both 2010 and 2011. Alabama new home sales slipped 2% from December 2012 with the new home inventory up 10% from that same month. I've lived in this sub-divison on the northern edge of Enterprise for about 13 years. One of the reasons I picked it is evident in the pictures below - THE TREES!!! Plenty of them. And the yards are large enough so that you have a feeling of privacy. Deer go by my house to one of the several lakes and ponds in the sub-division. Come join the residents of Enterprise Alabama on October 22, 2011 for the annual Boll Weevil Festival from 9:00am to 3:00pm This annual event celebrates what Enterprise is known for; the little boll weevil bug. Enterprise is famous for the Boll Weevil Monument, a large monument of a woman holding a Boll Weevil, which is located in the town square. Enterprise put up the statue because the destruction of the cotton crop had led to agricultural diversity, starting with peanuts and more prosperity than had ever come from cotton alone.   Well, I just got thru going over a summary of my sales last year and altho the best year in my brief career, still WAY short of my goal. This year has started with an accepted offer on one of my client's property and two more listings with an "automatic" sale built into one of those (i.e. - he knows what he wants to buy when one of his two places sell...and it's one of my listings as well!!)   Altho interest rates are supposed to go up, I don't see a major jump (knock on wood or anything looking like wood).   Here's to SUCCESS for all of us left (they said this is the first year that our board has dropped in membership) and a SAFE year for us and our loved ones!!
