Pearl Grey was born in Ohio back in 1872 to Lewis and Alice. Like me at an early age he was fascinated by history. His father was abusive to Pearl, which caused him to frequently be engaged in brawls. He did find comfort by finding a father substitute by the name of Muddy Miser. He attended the University of Pennsylvania on a baseball scholarship, graduating with a degree in dentistry in 1896. After graduation, he set up practice in New York City. He moved to California in 1918. Because of his father’s abuse he struggled with bouts of depression, anger and mood swings for the rest of his life.
