Misprision is the new word of the day. If you dissect the word you may get the wrong meaning and unless you know this word I bet you will.  Well now care to take a guess?  To give you a hint we did this long ago.  Still need the meaning OK here goes the meaning of (mis prizh’ en is act of contempt against a government or court.  Like a contempt of government in 1776.  There is another meaning and I find that one near to us and it is a mistake, now especially one due to misreading, either deliberate or unintended, or to misunderstanding can we say contracts?  What say you?

Perdure is the new word of the day. This is a very interesting word and Word® doe s not recognize it.  This is one of those words that keep me in the hunt and looking and writing about new words and their meaning.  Care to take a guess as to its meaning?  Before you answer look carefully at the spelling it’s not spelled wrong so care to take another guess?  The meaning of (per door’) is to continue, endure; to remain in existence.  We as Realtors ® are all winners as we continue to endure or in this case perdure.

Neep is the new word of the day. First of all I do not like this at all.  I’ve tried this more than once and I still don’t like it.  Some of you may and no doubt some of you enjoy this but not me.  Just the thought of it send negative thoughts through my mind.  But who am I but just one opinion.  I bet you are wondering what the meaning of (nep) is and for those of you who want to know it’s a turnip.  Did not like them when I was a youngster and I still don’t.  I don’t like chicken pot pies either.  Bad, bad memories.

Lentigo is the new word of the day. OH YEA!! Just love this one and when you find out the meaning I’ll bet ya you won’t look at the people who have this the same way.  I love moments like this.  Are you frantically looking up the word as you read the rest of this post?  No need you know I’ll give it to you so without further adieu the meaning of (-ti’go) is a freckle like spot on the skin that often appears during or after middle age, a freckle.  Aren’t you glad that out of all you’ll learn today this is one of them?  I can just picture you shaking your head wondering if I’ve lost it.

Entablature is the new word of the day. This one some of you will know some won’t.  Strangely this is associated with a home and this is the first time I can remember hearing this.  I’m sure it’s been around a lot longer than me and will continue when I’m long gone.  The meaning of (en tab’le cher) is a horizontal superstructure supported by columns and composed of architrave, frieze and cornice.  If you know what that means your one up on me.  Wouldn’t know it unless I was looking at a picture of it.

Amain is the new word of the day. Well this is a new one on me but most words I write about is new to me.  Anyway I wonder if this is a new one for you.  This is Archaic in origin wherever that is.  My wife accuses me of doing this all the time.  I think I only do this about 80% of the time which doesn’t give me a lot of time for anything else.  The meaning of (e man’) is at or with great speed, tastily; suddenly.  She (wife) tells me I’m going at full speed or not going at all.  What say you?

Oubliette is the new word of the day. I’ve seen homes that remind me of this.  The origin of the word is from France and the break down looks like (oo’ble et’) but can you guess its meaning?  This would make a great place to store wine for those of you who drink adult beverages.  If you haven’t guessed it by now you won’t so the meaning of the word is a concealed dungeon having a trap door in the ceiling as its only opening.  Although I wouldn’t suggest you call a basement a dungeon I know of a few couples that would like to have one when they get into an argument.  ;~) enjoy the day

Kermis is the new word of the day. Origin of this word is Dutch.  We call this something completely different in the U.S.  It comes to us on a yearly basis and some of us enjoy it and some of us don’t.  So which one are you?  Sorry I guess you would like to know the meaning of (kur’mis) is in the Netherlands, Belgium, etc, an outdoor fair or carnival.  So now I ask you again which one are you?  Enjoy the day

Remora is the new word of the day. I usually don’t do this but in this instance I think it’s appropriate.  Yesterday I posted a word that also started with the letter “R”.  In this case I thought it complimented the other word so here we go.  I’ve known these types of people sad to say.  So you may ask what the meaning of (rem’er e) is it is anything that hinders or impedes.  So what do you think?

Virago is the new word of the day. Well there boys and girls I’ve seen this before.  Not something I long to see again but I know I will.  You men know exactly what I mean and I know you’ve seen this also.  That’s right ladies I’m talking about your gender not all of you fit into this category but even you have seen this.  So not wanting to keep you waiting the meaning of (vi ra’ go) is a quarrelsome, shrewish female.  Some men are like that to but so far I haven’t been able to find that word but I’m on the hunt.  Enjoy the day

Megillah is the new word of the day. Here we go again.  The origin shows both Yiddish and Hebrew so take you r pick.  I’ve know people like this and I want to run when I see them coming.  Sometimes I escape and sometimes I don’t.  if I don’t make it I know I’m in for a long day, a very long day.  Have you ever not wanted to ask someone how they are or how their day is going?  If so you have already guessed the meaning of (me gil’e) is a long or involved explanation, story.  Ask a simple question and be prepared to bring your sack lunch it’s going to be a long day.

Encephalon is the new word of the day. Some say I have this problem, some say they wished I did.  I’ve known people without this and people who thought they had one.  Have you figured out what it is?  OK I won’t keep it from you much longer.  The word is Greek in origin and the meaning of (en sef’e lan’) is the brain.  So have you known or know of a person who does apparently not have one of these?  What say you?

Hyperbole is the new word of the day. You people know me don’t you?  Some of you do other just think they know.  When you hear the meaning of this word you’ll know what I think about myself.  Don’t ask the wife because she will assure you I’m not this word.  I guess that’s why they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder.  So here we go the meaning of (hi pur’be le) is exaggeration for effect and not meant to be taken literally.  So I think of myself as one of the largest jokesters and I also think I’m darn funny

Largesse is the new word of the day. No this is not Key Largo but largesse.  I think we have all done this at one time or another so as I grew older I did not see any reason to do this.  Don’t get me wrong I still know people who do this and I just can’t see why.  So the meaning of (lar jes’) is a gift or gifts given in a generous or sometimes showy way.  So tell me do you know people who do this?  What say you?

Eschew is the new word of the day. Found this one while reading a book.  Didn’t know what the meaning was so I looked it up and found it interesting.  We all have this problem now the issue is how to overcome the issue.  Well have I given you enough time to figure out the meaning?  OK the meaning of (es choo’) is to keep away from something harmful or disliked.  A lot of agents dislike the larger than life phone and making that call, some dislike writing letters and the list goes on.  What is your eschew?

Looby is the new word of the day. OK I’ve looked and cannot find the origin of this word.  Anyway I remember as a youngster I listened to this as “Here we go looby Lou here we go looby lie”.  Do you know what looby means?  Yes I looked it up before I wrote it so I know it’s the right word.  The meaning of (loo’be) is a big, clumsy fellow.  So did you know the meaning what say you?

Lollop is the new word of the day. Well here we go can you guess the meaning before I give it to you?  Apparently this word originated in Britain so if you have lived over the pond this one should be easy for you.  I have been accused of this and I know for sure some of you have too.  The meaning of (lal’ ep) is to lounge about; loll, to move in a clumsy or relaxed way.  YES! Been there done that.  What say you?

Fret is the new word of the day. OK all you guys and gals give this one your best shot.  We all know the word as to be irritated, annoyed or worry but not this time.  This is the same word but used in a different meaning.  For those of you who follow me you know I can’t make this stuff up.  So for the meaning of (fret) an ornamental pattern of small, straight bars intersecting or joining one another, usually at right angles, to for a regular design, as for a border or in an architectural relief.  Well did you get it right?

Mien is the new word of the day. OK I can tell you this is not German in origin and is definitely not what you think. So you want a minute to think about it again?  Tick….tock…tick….tock now have you had enough time?  If you haven’t got it figured out by now you won’t so the meaning of (men) is a way of carrying and conducting oneself; a way of looking; appearance.  So did you get it right?  OK were you even close?
