So the story goes the chicken and pig was walking down the street when they saw a sign. The sign read “ham and eggs for 6.95”. The pig looked at the chicken and said for you that’s a little inconvenience for me it’s a matter of life and death. How do you look at your real estate business? Is it a mere inconvenience or a matter of life and how you live? The choice is yours determine the outcome wisely.

Don’t know about you but I’m one.  Sometimes I’m asked to do this and sometimes I’m not.  It doesn’t matter your age you have done this.  Sometimes I ask another person to be this and they usually pull through for me.  By the way the meaning of (bren ser) a person who reminds another of something.  Been there done that what about you?

Not yet, but soon. Bicycling for fitness, recreation, and commuting continues to increase in NW Arkansas. There are many trails available throughout the area, and things are going to get even better.  The Northwest Arkansas Razorback Regional Greenway Proposal recently announced it will receive $15 million through the Department of Transportation's "Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery Program." The money will be used to build new trails to connect with existing trails. The finished project will boast 40 miles of non-motorized trails from south Fayetteville to Bella Vista. Bicyclists will be able to access it from those two cities as well as points in Johnson, Springdale, Lowell, and Rogers and Bentonville.  Bicycle shops are open for business throughout the area. The ...

I read this in my Webster’s © and I laughed out loud even though there was no one in the house except for me and my dog.  No need to go trying to look it up I’ll tell you the meaning in a moment.  I just could not let this one go and pass it up.  I really like the ones my wife has as I want to get close to them whenever I can.  Now for the meaning of (bi la’be el) having two lips, we all have a upper and lower lip and I like my wife’s pressed close to mine.

Fayetteville has done it again. According to US News, our fair city is #9 on their list of best affordable mountain towns. Fayetteville and/or surrounding cities have been on so many ‘best' lists in current years, I'm losing track. Kiplinger, Sperling, and Forbes are some of the lists that come to mind. It's interesting that US News subdivided the subject into a whole bunch of lists this time around. In addition to best mountain towns, there are lists for military retirees, senior singles, wine lovers, and long-term care options among others. I guess different people are looking for different things, so this way they can zero in on exactly the type of place they want to retire. Bella Vista, Arkansas, just up the road so to speak from Fayetteville, made the list of 10 places with the mos...

Personally I've known both.  I'm not saying there are anymore out there but I'm sure there is.  The question you need to ask yourself is how many do you know.  Since I'm the only one in my family that has this abnormality I think (know) I'm just fine.   There are some of my AR friends that I'm happy to say has this disease.  By the way the meaning of (un' ko) Unknown; strange, a strange person or thing.  Join wordsmith on Activerain.

I know I just know people are looking at this one and scratching their heads thinking is this what I think it is.  My smile is about as big as it gets as I'm writing this post.  I can see the thoughts racing through your minds.  As a part of my training from my previous job I can assure you I do not do this at all.  The meaning of (flak' sid) lacking force; weak; feeble.  Don't seem weak around your clients they will think you're the same way when trying to market their property or finding them a home.  Wordsmith don't you just love it???  Join wordsmith on Activerain.

My fellow post readers I can assure you I have (not that I recall) never been accused of this.  I seen some contracts that I would question not trying to say that an agent would but it takes all kinds.  I truly dislike trying to be politically correct but that's another post.  Anyway the meaning of (e lizh' en) any act or instance of leaving out or omitting a part or parts.  Don't leave out anything on your contracts it may make one wonder what else you're trying to leave out.  Join wordsmith on Activerain.

I don't have one of these but I wish I had.  It would come in handy right now and make me feel better.  If need be I would give this to my wife would you?  With my head count (not) it sure would feel good on y old bald head.  The meaning of (ke pot') a long cloak, usually with a hood.   With the weather turning it would be nice so tell me who's the weather in your neck of the woods?  Join wordsmith on Activerain

I've done this more times than I wish to count.  I've seen it done and sometimes just sometimes mind you I chuckle inside to think that someone would do this.  Since I retired I have backed off considerably from what I was at one time.  Anyway watch it the meaning of (e sur' bik) sharp, bitter or harsh in temper, language etc.  Once the words come out of your mouth it's hard and downright impossible to take them back.  Think before you speak.  Join wordsmith on Activerain

Now I don't know about you but back in the days when you had a drink you had a cigarette.  Many the times I did it.  Just think of all the money I could have saved and all the hangovers I could have avoided.  Now this is what happens when you consume a little too much. Enjoy the day it may be your last.

This is "Old Main" on the University of Arkansas Campus in Fayetteville, Arkansas.  Today was a beautiful Fall day when I snapped this photo of my Alma Mater. I had the joy of spending 3 days in beautiful Northwest Arkansas and attending an Arkansas game.  First time back on campus in 30 years, I remember why I loved it so!

The Home Depot Foundation's Sustainable Cities Institute has awarded the City of Fayetteville $500,000 to increase long-term solutions for green planning and development. The grant will be spread over three years and will flow through National Center for Appropriate Technology. Weekly updates will be available to the public.   Initial plans are to build 40 ENERGY STAR-certified homes in the Walker Park neighborhood. These homes, for low- to-moderate-income families, will advance goals for healthy, affordable housing, improve access to alternative transportation corridors, and increase economic opportunity in the area. It really is quite a deal. In addition to building to meet LEED standards, the design will maximize tree canopy conservation. Also, urban cooling eco-services will be cons...

This season the Walton Arts Center in Fayetteville is attempting something new in an outreach program called the 10x10 Series. There will be 10 concerts throughout the season which are priced at the ridiculously low price of $10 per ticket. This, of course, is in addition to other concert series this season. For more information about WAC offerings and the 10x10, click here. I went to the second concert in the series last evening (October 9) and was impressed with the unusual nature of the concert. Featured was Omara Portuondo, 80 year old legendary singer from Cuba. For more on the concert, read my main blog.

This is NOT the time for me to start  a posting. The Market in the Downtown Historic Fayetteville is hitting on ALL cylinders for the past couple of weeks, and I am living proof that sleep, food, & physical exercise are a CRUTCH for those that don't live, sleep, eat, & breathe Fayetteville Real...Estate. Sellers are starting to really catch the wave of proper initial pricing, & Buyer's are unable to resist 4% money, or they're simply getting sick of RENTING!!! I see a really STRONG 3rd & 4th Quarters for those involved with Florida "IS" Fayetteville Real...Estate.

Sometimes, I think it's a good thing that NW Arkansas isn't growing as fast as it was a few years ago. It allows us to step back and take stock. We can look at what was happening then and how it affected the area and decide if that's how we want future growth to look. One trend which has been noted and bandied about by elected officials and others is that of developing a so-called "green corridor" in NW Arkansas to try to attract clean businesses and pursue green growth concepts. And it's working. Fayetteville was just named number 2 in the Huffington Post's "7 Unexpectedly Green Cities" in the US, along with such places as Eugene, OR (#1 on their list), Austin, TX, Huntsville, AL, Nashua, NH, Reno, NV, and Long Beach, CA. We have an opportunity here to decide how we want our quality of...

August 2 was the deadline for proposals for the Walton Arts Center expansion in NW Arkansas. There were 24 proposals submitted from northwest Arkansas communities, chambers of commerce, the University of Arkansas, and individuals. I'm for expanding the current site in Fayetteville, but some of the other site proposals are very interesting and provide an expansion of the "arts scene" in northwest Arkansas. With the Crystal Bridges museum under construction in Bentonville, the existing Walton Arts Center and University of Arkansas music and arts venues in Fayetteville, the new expansion will contribute positively to the quality of life in Northwest Arkansas--wherever it ends up. Click here to read more and access the proposals.
