Benjamin Harrison V was born in Charles City County, Virginia back in 1726 to Benjamin Harrison IV and Anne. William Rufus DeVane was born in Sampson County, North Carolina back in1786 to William and Margaret. He had a large family which was also wealthy and well-connected. He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1803.He was admitted to the bar in 1806, afterwards he moved to Clinton and established his law practice. He entered politics being elected as a member of the North Carolina House of Commons serving from 1807-1809. Oliver Evans was born in Newport, Delaware back in 1755 to Charles and Ann. The family moved to Red Clay Creek just north of Newport. From what I’ve read he had little to no formal education. At 17 he was working as a wheelwright and wagon-maker.When the Revolutionary War began, he was 19 enlisting in a Delaware militia company however, he saw no active service. Desmond Arthur was born in County Clare, Ireland back in 1884 to Thomas and Helen. Educated at Portora Royal School in Enniskillen afterwards he joined the 5th Battalion Royal Muster Fusiliers being promoted to Lieutenant in 1911.   In 1912 he joined the Royal Flying Corps, the first of its kind in Britain.In 1913 he was coming in for a landing in the B.E. 2 biplane at 2,500 feet when the right wing of the aircraft snapped off and plunged to the ground. Desmond was found about 160 feet from his aircraft. His death was the first one in the Royal Flying Corps. William Orlando was born in Ft. Smith, Arkansas back in 1911. He graduated from the United States Military Academy at West point and was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Field Artillery in 1933.After graduation, he was assigned as an assistant executive and supply officer at Ft. Bliss, Texas. A good one for today.Robert was born in Beaufort, South Carolina back in 1839 to Robert and Lydia. At the age of 12 he worked in a hotel, then became a lamplighter on the streets of Charleston. His love of the sea found him working on the docks and wharves. Starting out as a dockworker, a rigger and a sail maker working his way up to a wheelman.In April 1861 with the Battle of Fort Sumter he was assigned to steer the CSS Planter. His assignment was to deliver troops and supplies. He also surveyed the waterways and to lay mines. In 1862 while the officers were on shore duty Robert saw his chance taking control of the vessel sailing it past the harbor forts without incident. Abe was born in 1861 near Park Falls, Wisconsin. He was captured by a Native American by the name of Ahgamhwegezhig or “Chief Sky” just after birth. In the spring of that year Chief Sky was on a trading expedition near Jim Falls, Wisconsin where he sold Abe to Daniel McCann in exchange for a bushel of corn.Daniel turn around and sold Abe to John Perkins for $2.50. Abe went with John during the Civil War being there during the Battle of Fredericktown and the Battle of Island Number Ten, and the Battle of Farmington, Mississippi and several others too many to list. Andre-Gustave was born in Paris, France back in 1878 to Levie and Masza. His father committed suicide when he was 6 due to a business failure. Educated at Ecole Polytechnique he graduated in 1900. Reading novels by Jules Verne and watching the construction of the Eiffel Tower was the inspiration for him wanting to become an engineer.During World War I he was responsible for the mass production of armaments. He was put in charge of the Renault plant which employed 35,000 men to produce those munitions during the war. He died in 1935 from stomach cancer. Now for the rest of the story. James was born in Carskerdo, Scotland back in 1742 to William and Alison. He studied at two universities one in St. Andrews, Glasgow and the other at Edinburgh. He never stayed long enough to obtain a degree however, one can never put a good man down. He moved to America in 1766 where he began tutoring and teaching at The Academy and College of Philadelphia (now the University of Pennsylvania). For his work at the University he was awarded an honorary Master of Arts degree several months later.After studying he was admitted to the bar in Philadelphia in 1767. Thaddeus Fairbanks was born in Brimfield, Massachusetts back in 1796. In 1815 he moved to St. Johnsbury, Vermont working in a wheelwright’s shop. In 1824 he married Lucy and in 1824 he built an iron foundry.In 1830 he patented a hemp and flax dressing machine. In the meantime, he invented several types of heating and cooking stoves, cast iron plow and other items. He died in 1886 at 90 and is buried in St. Johnsbury Vermont.Well now it’s time to come to the rest of the story. Mary Patricia was born in Fort Worth, Texas back in 1921 to Jay and Mary. Her parents divorced just 10 days prior to her birth. Mary moved to New York with her mother however, at 12 she was sent to live with her grandmother for a year. This put a strain on the already rocky relationship.According to Mary her mother once told her she had tried to abort her by drinking turpentine. This love-hate relationship continued to haunt her for the rest of her life. Abraham Clark was born in Elizabethtown, New Jersey back in 1726. His father was reported to be a person who had a natural grasp of math so he hired a tutor to teach Abraham the profession of being s surveyor. I his spare time Abraham taught himself law and was known as “the poor man’s councilor”. He married Sarah Hatfield and the union resulted in 10 (count em) 10 children.He became Sheriff of Essex County and in 1775 was elected to the Provincial Congress. Two of his sons were officers in the Continental Army. Both were captured, tortured and beaten however, he refused to speak of them in Congress. Gypsie Ann Evarts was born in Wichita Falls, Texas back in 1927. She graduated from Wichita Falls, Texas and moved to Los Angeles to study at UCLA.In 1943 while working as a comedian in a vaudeville act a dancer, among many others she was discovered by Earl Carroll. She toured with the USO in a production of Anything Goes. In 1944 she worked for 20th Century Fox with a seven-year contract. She worked in several films and in 1953 in episode 125 she had a role in The Lone Ranger. In the 1960’s she settled into a comfortable semi-retirement as a wife and homemaker.She died in 2016 at the age of 95. Francis was born in Llandaff, Wales back in 1713 to Morgan and Anne.  Educated in Scotland then attending Westminster School in England.  He was serving as a British mercantile agent in 1756 when he was taken prisoner where he was sent to France for imprisonment.  When he was released he came to America where he became active in politics.  He was a member of the Committee of Sixty and a member of the New York Provincial Congress.  He died in 1802 at 89 and is buried at the Trinity Church Cemetery, New York City. Okay so here is the rest of the story.  remember when I told you he was a member of the Committee of Sixty, well he was also a delegate to the Continental Congress in 1775 and in 1778 he signed the United States Articles of Confederation, BTW he also signed the United States Dec...

Alexander William Doniphan was born in Mason County, Kentucky back in 1808 to Joseph and Anne. He graduated from Augusta College in 1824 being admitted to the bar in 1830.He opened his first office in Lexington, Missouri however he soon moved to Liberty. He worked only as a defense attorney being noted for his oratorical skills. Serving in the state legislature in 1836, 1840 and 1854. During his spare time, he also served as a Colonel of the 1st Regiment of Missouri Mounted Volunteers. Sarah Breedlove was born in Delta, Louisiana back in 1867 to Owen and Minerva. She was the first of six children born into the family after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed. Orphaned at the age of seven she moved to Vicksburg, Mississippi and worked as a domestic living with her brother-in-law Jesse.In 1888 she moved to St. Louis, Missouri where she found work as a laundress barely making a dollar a day. She also was introduced to ragtime music and sang at the St. Paul African Methodist Church. Among the African-American women at that time she experienced dandruff and hair loss. Mae was born in Madrid, New Mexico back in 1894.  She worked as a salesgirl, loitering around movie sets while her older sister played in some movies. She began to work as an extra in various moves playing her first substantial role in the file Ramona in 1910.Her big break came when Mary Pickford refused to play the bare-legged, grass-skirted role of Lily-White in Man’s Genesis.  With that decision, the role was given to Mae as well she stared in The Sands of Dee.  Winning roles in about 8 films a year making $2,500.00 per week.  She married lee in 1918 and her roles dropped by one film each year after that.Her last notable role was that of a “flapper” in The White Rose (1923).  She went into retirement but returned in 1931 to play a role in Ove the Hill.  She died in 1968 at 73 in Herm...

Timothy John was born in London, England back in 1955 to Conway and Mary. He attended Sheen Mounty Primary School. He studied at The Queen’s College, Oxford graduating with a bachelor of arts in physics.After graduation we worked for Plessey telecommunications leaving in 1978 to work for D.G. Nash. In 1980 he worked at John Poole’s Image Computer System for three years. In 1989-1990 he wrote a proposal and it was accepted (more about that later).
