Cupola is the new word of the day. I’ve seen them I’ve called by several different names but not this one.  Believe it or not this has something to do with real estate (sort of).  Anyway I know you’ve seen these also the question I have is I haven’t seen them lately at least not on residential homes.  The meaning of (kyoo’pe le) is a small domelike structure on a roof.  You see them on churches etc but not residential homes at least not in this area what say you?  Join us tomorrow for another journey into the wonderful world of Wordsmith.

Imperturbation is the new word of the day. This word does not and I repeat does not describe me and I’ll bet it doesn’t describe you either.  There are some people out there who would fit this word to a (T).  I truly hope none of you have this issue.  So why not cut to the chase and tell you the meaning of (im’purt’er ba’shen) is freedom from excitement; serenity; calmness.  I like getting excited but I also like my serenity.  Join us tomorrow for another journey into the wonderful world of Wordsmith.

Laity is the new word of the day. Do you know you are associated with this?  If not let me be the first to welcome you into this lofty place.  Most of you are here due to a conscious choice and some are not.  I am proud and happy to be associated with this word.  Okay, okay the meaning of (la’I te) is all the people not included among the clergy; layman collectively, or all the people not belonging to any given profession.  Interesting word isn’t it.  Join us tomorrow for another journey into the wonderful world of Wordsmith.

Haft is the new word of the day. You know I’ve called this by several different names but not by this one.  The problem I see here is finding enough words to describe this without giving it away.  Any hint would just give you the word so I can’t think of anything right now sooooooo the meaning of (haft) is a handle or hilt of a knife, ax, etc.  Join us tomorrow for another journey into the wonderful world of Wordsmith.

Waif is the new word of the day.   I can truly say I’ve seen it been there done that and have had it happen to me.  Not going to give you any hints on this one because it will be so easy to figure out so lets us give you the meaning of (waf) is anything found by chance that is without an owner.  That cannot be can it?  Someone at sometime probably owned the animal, item or whatever it is.  For whatever reason they either lost it or threw it away so it did have an owner however finding the true owner is another issue in of itself.  Think this one over before you respond.  Are you confused if so I know I would be reading this? :~)  Join us tomorrow for another journey into the wonderful world of Wordsmith.

Bursar is the new word of the day. If I called it by the name we use here in the Good Ole U.S. there would be no need to write a blog on this one.  So that not being the case here do you know the meaning of this one?  Here is a hint for those of you who went to school and I mean any school from kindergarten to college each one had one of these.   Besides if you haven’t guessed it by now you won’t so the meaning of (bur’ser) is a treasurer as of a college or similar institution.  So did you know it?  Join us tomorrow for another journey into the wonderful world of Wordsmith.

Infundibular is the new word of the day. I tell you where do people come up with these.  Some people just have too much time on their hands and just try to add new words to the dictionary and this is one of them.  Of course when you read the meaning of this word you may wonder which one came first and to that end I do not know.  The meaning of (in’fun dib’yoo ler) is a shape like a funnel.  So which came first the funnel or infundibular?  Join us tomorrow for another journey into the wonderful world of Wordsmith.

Athwart is the new word of the day. Not much thinking about writing a blog for this word.  Can we say been there done that?  I darn well can say I have and I’m sure it is not over and will happen again.  I’ve been involved in this so often it almost comes as second nature to me now.  So when you read the meaning what say you?  The meaning of (e thwort’) is against; opposed to you know like changes that happen all the time to our contracts.  I guess the attorneys need to justify their position.  Join us tomorrow for another journey into the wonderful world of Wordsmith.

Grimalkin is the new word of the day. Hmmmmm this is going to be an interesting one.  I know of a couple of you who should know this one for sure and if you don’t shame, shame on you :~).  I could get into trouble with this one so I think I’ll cut my chances and just tell you the meaning (you’ll figure it out).  The meaning of (gri mal’kin) is an old female cat or a malicious old woman.  I of course don’t know any of those what about you?  This should be good.   Join us tomorrow for another journey into the wonderful world of Wordsmith.

Bema is the new word of the day. Good morning people glad you stopped by to visit.  Don’t know where people come up with these but it keeps me looking and blogging.  It is amazing the words one finds and just think I give you them daily.  It may not be what you think or want to hear but it comes straight from Webster’s ®.  The meaning of (be’ma) is a speaker’s platform.  I don’t make these up they are in the dictionary.    Join us tomorrow for another journey into the wonderful world of Wordsmith.

Haply is the new word of the day. Can we say been there done that?  Oh the stories I could tell and the stories that could be told on me.  I bet if you think about it the stories you could tell.  Anyway some say it is fate if this happens and I agree.  The meaning of (hap’le) is by chance or accident; perhaps.  Anything you would like to tell me?  Join us tomorrow for another journey into the wonderful world of Wordsmith.

Hangdog is the new word of the day. It’s not what you think but go ahead and take a guess.  No county or origin that I could find so I don’t have many hints to give you.  Let’s face it even if I had some I probably not give them to you anyway.  The meaning of (han’dog’) is a contemptible, sneaking person.  You know like me.  Join us tomorrow for another journey into the wonderful world of Wordsmith.

Dash is the new word of the day. Well one could say today dashing through the snow might be the meaning but they would be wrong.  One may even say a dash to get in line or even a mark between some words but alas they would be wrong also.  The (dash) I’m looking for has this meaning: a gift or tip offered to get better service; a bribe.  Anyone try bribing you lately?  Join us tomorrow for another journey into the wonderful world of Wordsmith.

Fanfaronade is the new word of the day. I’m not proud of it but I’ve been this from time to time.  There are some people agents included that seem to cherish this and want more of it.  So my wife got close but no cigar what about you?  If you know this or if you guess it before I give you the meaning good for you.  So why don’t we get to the meaning of (fan’fe re nad’) is boasting talk or showy action.  Did you know it what say you?  Join us tomorrow for another journey into the wonderful world of Wordsmith.

Cretin is the new word of the day. Well boys and girls what do we have here.  I’ve been called this from time to time and at times I do this just because I can.  I’m sure most of you have thought this about someone else and no one has thought of you this way.  In any respect now it is time to reveal the meaning of (kret’n) it is a very stupid or foolish person.  Join us tomorrow for another journey into the wonderful world of Wordsmith.

Penultimate is the new word of the day. Interesting word I have here isn’t it.  Well to tell you the truth (not that I would lie) this is going to be a difficult word to write about.  There are some of you who do not agree with me and my views.  Heck the best friend I have at the office and I disagree on both religion and politics.  However I will penultimate him and his thoughts.  By the way the meaning of (pe nul’te met) is to the last.  I will defend your right to voice your opinion no matter how wrong you are. :~).  Enjoy the day.    Join us tomorrow for another journey into the wonderful world of Wordsmith.

Comedo is the new word of the day. We’ve all had them in fact some of us still do.  I heard this called by several names but not this one and that is why it is the new word of the day.  Interesting how some people have nothing better to do all day than to come up with new words to describe something that happens every day.  Anyway the meaning of (kam’e do) a plug of dirt and fatty matter in a skin duct: blackhead.  So I ask you did you know this word.  Join us tomorrow for another journey into the wonderful world of Wordsmith.

Illocutionary is the new word of the day. Just a couple of weeks ago I wrote about this using another word.  Until today I did not know there was more than that one word to explain what happens to me every day.  Now I have two words to try and use to explain my problem.  So I will not keep you in suspense any longer the meaning of (il’e kyoo’she ner’e) is of or having to do with that aspect of utterance which relates to the speaker’s intention as distinct from what is actually said.  That explains everything doesn’t it?  Join us tomorrow for another journey into the wonderful world of Wordsmith

Punctilious is the new word of the day. I’m glad to say I’m one of these.  If you are also than you understand where I’m coming from if you are not one I’m so sorry for you.  Okay here is a hint (if you tell me you will do something I fully expect for you to follow through).  Longest hint I’ve ever given. Another hint if you tell me to meet you somewhere at a certain time you best be there on time or before.  So the meaning of (punk til’e es) is being very careful about every detail, very exact.  Join us tomorrow for another journey into the wonderful world of Wordsmith
