Bisbee, AZ Real Estate News

(Las Cruces Homes and Land)
About 90 miles to the southeast of Tucson is a wonderful little town called Bisbee, Arizona. The area was discovered in 1877 by a reconnaissance detail on the search for Apaches in the Mule Mountains.  A tracker with the detail noticed a lot of mineralization in the area - copper, silver and lead - and knew that he'd probably struck it rich.  He filed claims to mine the land and, from that, Bisbee was born and became known as the The Queen of the Copper Camps. Copper and other minerals were in great supply until the mid 1970's when production slowed and the mines began to close.  Bisbee became a haven for retirees, 'hippies', artists and others looking for low priced real estate and an escape from the big city. One of the largest tourist attractions in town is the Queen Mine Tour. The Q...

I manage about 100 single family homes in Southern Arizona and have grown from about forty a year and a half ago. My goal a year and a half ago  was to be at 200 in two years. I have made progress with word of mouth and online marketing however I am not gaining the ground I had hoped. How are you growing your property management portfolio? Do any of you offer agent referrals and do they work? What advertising has brought you the best results? Thanks for your ideas. Brad SnyderSierra Vista Realtywww.BradSnyder.com

A week ago, I spent part of a Sunday afternoon in Bisbee, Arizona.  While waiting to meet a client before we went to view the Loma Linda Mansion, I had a chance to wander down a side street, away from the tourist area for a few minutes - you never know what's around the corner in an old mining town! First thing that caught my eye was an old Indian Motorcycle ad painted on the side of a building - someone has spruced it up and done a little restoration to it.  Made me think of my days in Durango, Colorado tending bar in a place dedicated & decorated with restored Indians & memorabilia (the bar stools were actually replicas of the saddle on the old Indian Chieftain model).  Cool! As I wandered down to get a better angle to take a photo, I noticed this taxi.  One thing I love about the wes...

Bisbee is tucked in the Mule Mountains of southeastern Arizona and is only 100 miles southeast of Tucson.  To stop in Bisbee, is to stop in time and this amazing little town left is picturesque. When you walk the streets of old Bisbee, you can imagine what it must have been like 100 years ago. The first stop you should make when in town is the chamber of commerce at 31 Subway Street where you can pick up free information including a self-guided walking tour brochure that details the town's historic structures. You won't want to miss the world famous Brewery Gulch, which in its heyday, boasted 47 saloons and was considered the liveliest spot between El Paso and San Francisco. Or you might put away the walking shoes and catch a ride on the trolley that tours Old Bisbee and the Warren area...

Bisbee, Arizona Once one of the Wests most prosperous copper mining towns, Bisbee is now a modern artists colony perched on picturesque hillsides. Bisbee grew from humble beginnings as a mining camp to a booming town in the 1880s after the discovery of one of the richest mineral sites in the world. In its heyday, Bisbee was the largest and rowdiest city between St. Louis and San Francisco. In 1908, a fire ravaged most of the commercial district along Main Street, leaving nothing but a pile of ashes, but by 1910 it was rebuilt in the image of its original Victorian charm. The old saloons, office buildings and other landmarks still stand and most of the town is a registered National Historic District.Bisbee is the major transportation link for the twin plant manufacturing operations in Na...

Bisbee Arizona is nestled a mile high in the Mule mountains. It was once a mining empire and even had a functioning stock exchange in it's height of copper production. The Stock Exchange is now a a bar/restaurant establishment located in the historic building. The building is for sale. It is just one of the many historic places that have been transformed to accomodate  the community and it's tourists who want to have fun.Bisbee is home to many local artists. Their work can be seen in the galleries that line Main St. Many of the artists have profiles here. Tourists come to old Bisbee in both the winter and the summer .The winter tourists are generally from the northern parts of the planet coming to escape the frigid temperatures. You will often meet folks from Alaska, Montana, Michigan a...
