Snake Season! Fountain Hills, Arizona Just a short post for my friends and visitors to Fountain Hills. Part of enjoying the Life Style in Fountain Hills, Rio Verde and the out lying desert communities comes with some cautions. Rattlers! Last night we sighted our first snake of the year. A young California King Snake was stretched out across our front door step. King Snakes are harmless and actually have been know to consume Rattle Snakes. He was probably hungry and came out during the heat of the day and was trying to stay warm by comforting himself next to the warmth of the house we have in Fountain Hills. So if your out hiking, cleaning up the yard or just walking the dog, use a little extra caution. I've even had Rusty snake trained and have a cute video of it. I'll try to post more ... 03/20/2010

The Fountain is GREEN!OK, not going-green to save the environment but the color green. Fountian Hills, Arizona hosts an ealry Saint Patrick's Day celebration.  Good food, fun booths, entertainment and the famous fountain proudly supports the special day by going green! The majectic Fountain added a lucky rainbow to celebrate the Luck of the Irish. It was definitely worth the short trip from Scottsdale to Fountain Hills to see the beautiful shades of green picturesquely displayed by the fountain.  From a pastel green to a emerald green to a dark green all of the hues were alluring. The live Irish band played some toe tapping music and the Irish food rounded out a fun day of festivities.  03/13/2010

St. Patrick's Day Fountain Hills, AZ goes green for St. Patrick's Day! Seeing how my middle name is Patrick, I'm all in. Including green shirt, beer and corn beef. We started at noon today by turning The World's Highest Fountain green. I probably need to google and see if we still are The World's tallest Fountain or if some one passed us by. I'm darn sure we have The World's tallest Fountain that's green and here's the picture to prove it! So how does Fountain Hills celebrate St. Patrick's Day be sides turning the Fountain green? Celtic music, Irish food, family fun, corned beef and cabbage, soda bread and my personal favorite, GREEN BEER. We also offer green wine for you wine connoisseurs. Fountain Hills Dog Park Desert Vista Dog Park in Fountain Hills. The Fountain Hills Dog Park which is actually named The Desert Vista Dog Park is just another great example of why Fountain Hills is the greatest place to live in the Valley of the Sun. It's managed and maintained by the town and local volunteers. It is actually two dog parks. One for the little guys and one for the big boys. It's a great place to meet new people in Fountain Hills even if you don't have a dog. The people there are always willing to share a dog story or two and it's easy to meet folks from all over the country and possibly the world. I own a Vizsla named Rusty. Wildflowers Mar. 08, 2010 Cave Creek Recreation Area Wildflowers reports:   This past week for wildflowers has not been disappointing here at the park. Color seems to be peeking from underneath bushes and trees when you least expect it. When coming into the park before you reach the entry station, keep an eye out to the left. There is a wash that is full of chuparosa each year and they are starting to show their beautiful red blooms. The best color to see is still around the Nature Center right now where the dense clusters of desert bells, poppies, desert marigold and brittlebush are brilliantly glowing in the sunshine. Along the Go John Trail seems to be the next area to start where the lupines, filaree and poppies are creating some nice picture opportunities but still sporadic to this... 03/08/2010
