PROOF READ, PROOF READ, PROOF READ, Spell checkers only check spelling   There are many words in the English language that sound similar, (or close) but have entirely different meanings. When you run a spell checker it does not check to see if you used the proper word. It only checks for what it knows to be a misspelled word. It does not know that you meant "wood floor", when you wrote "would floor", and other such examples. Romano's Macaroni Grill in Mesa, Near Val Vista Lakes Gilbert AZ   The Val Vista Lakes Clubhouse Nifty Fifty Club had their monthly dinner out on June 24 at Romano's Macaroni Grill . The restaurant is in Mesa, just north of Baseline, which is the dividing line between Mesa and Gilbert. It's very convenient for Val Vista Lakes residents, so my wife and I eat there often. The Nifty Fifty group was seated in the very comfortable side room where large parties are often seated. Something notable was the lighted fireplace when the outside temperature was 112 degrees. What is interesting about that is, with the fireplace going, it provided a lot of ambiance and the room was very comfortable.   At first I thought they were talking about an aggressive real estate agent.  They are known to  be hungry and moody if they have not eaten a good escrow lately. But no, there were at least 4 actual sightings describing a 3 foot tall mountain lion in the Trilogy Community between Recker and Power Roads. The authorities were notified, but that cat is just too sneaky to be caught that easily. And, how would you react to a mountain lion walking in your backyard? Do you let your dog out after an hour, a day, or a week? And the kitty cats in the neighborhood? They may be a snack. Although there have been no reports of aggression towards animals or people, that can change in an instant. The advice is to watch, look and listen.   I just sat an Open House today in Trilogy, a beautiful adult community in Gilbert. The address is 5478 S. Peachwood Dr. Gilbert, AZ 85289. I just got my new iPhone last Thursday and decided that I’d do a video on this listing to see how well it does. I'm not sure why, but I've always avoided making videos but with this new iPhone I'm liking it. The new iPhone 4 records in HD now, but for some reason when I uploaded the video from the phone to YouTube it compressed it…something to work on. I downloaded the iMovie application and am amazed what you can do with it in just minutes. iMovie allows you to splice as many clips together as you want and edit the video frame by frame, as well as add music, titles and styles right from your phone. iMovie is pretty new for the iPhone and only wor... 06/26/2010

RC Cola and a Moon Pie    Mark Brian wrote a post discussing his Uncle who is battling cancer, and how his Uncle introduced him to Coca Cola  Mark Brians Post That reminded me of my early years on the farm near Dickson TN. On Saturday's my cousins and I would go to the country store about 3 miles away to have our weekly RC Cola and Moon Pie. Except for that weekly treat, everything else we ate was meat, potatoes and vegetables. Oh, and grapes fresh from the vines. We went barefoot all summer and the roads were all gravel, but our feet were toughened up, so we didn't mind at all. Youngest Samba Dancer     When we lived in San Francisco and I was heavily involved in the music business, after retiring from Pan Am, I played in a Bateria over in the Mission District. A Bateria is the drum ensemble that performs for the dancers. We would rehearse almost every week for a year preparing for the San Francisco Carnaval Parade. We rehearsed in a large dance studio, and the dancers rehearsed as we played. As Carnaval time got closer, the excitement grew and everyone began putting more energy and enthusiasm into the playing and dancing. After the parade, a small group from the Bateria and dancers would perform in one of the very crowded night clubs, and it was a blast. My FIRST Real Estate VIDEO | Does it Work?   I've been working on ways to take good video by experimenting with lens, distance, vantage points, etc, and will continue to experiment. Also, I've been studying my Sony Vega Pro 9.0 video editing program, which has a high learning curve, but I'm beginning to get a basic handle on it. In this first video, I decided to to a drive through of the most prestigious gated lake sub community of Westlake in Val Vista Lakes, which is in Gilbert AZ. This community has 50 of it's 64 homes on the waterfront. I had to repeat the drive through and edit process three times before I got one technique that worked, but I still have to work on a new and better technique.
