Waterski capital of Phoenix   If someone were to ask you which city in the Phoenix area had the most waterski waterfront lots, what would your answer be (before you read the title to this blog)?  Better yet, can you name the subdivisions that have been built specifically for waterskiing.  Playa del Rey has 34 waterfront homes on the waterski lake; however, this is not a tournament waterski lake. You'll have to go down the street to Crystal Point which has 20 waterski waterfront homes on lots that are approximately 1/2 acre in size.  As of this writing there is one home for sale for $1.6 million in Crystal Point.  The other waterski lake community is Santan Lakeside Estates in south Gilbert off of Riggs Rd. In Gilbert Arizona, school boards have the power to raise property taxes, which they exercised last year.  Three Board Members' terms expire in December.  Citizens of Gilbert may choose to re-elect or replace the candidates at this year's election in November.  This is a very significant issue to me as one of the huge draws of Gilbert is our top-ranking school district.  Much of our homes' value is tied to the public perception of our schools.  Now I don't necessarily think that higher taxes = higher budget = better schools, but we all have a hugely vested interest in our school board, whether we have children in public school or not.  The Gilbert Education Association will present a Candidate Forum for all Legislative District 22 House and Senate candidates, and all Gilbert Unified Sch... 08/19/2008
