Fireworks begin at 9pm. There will be other activities such as music, gymnastic performances, and rides for kids happening earlier in the day. Location is off Dobson road to the West, Southern Avenue on the North and Longmore on the East. Admission is $1.00 and parking is $5.00 per car. Have a fun and safe Fourth of July!

Folks in the East Phoenix Arizona Valley have a new resource if they want to eat healthy, but also want to eliminate some of the shopping and prep time it takes to make healthy eating a reality. A new location for Entrees Made Easy is opening in the new Superstition Gateway Plaza located at 1752 S Signal Butte Road in Mesa Arizona. The franchise was started about 2 years ago and it's headquarters is located in a farther west Mesa location. The operation lets individuals schedule sessions to use the store's kitchens to make easy entrees, package them and take them home to freeze and use throughout the week. Those of us who use the 60 East in Mesa through the stretch from, say, Gilbert Road on out to Signal Butte have been dodging all of the construction for what seems forever. There is, however, light at the end of the tunnel. ADOT is putting the finishing touches on the 202 north from the 60 from Southern to University! YES!!! They will be opening that stretch by the middle of July and finishing the remainder all of the way to Power by next summer. That will be wonderful.  Another tidbit of welcome news is that the section between Signal Butte and Crismon Road will be rubberized later this year. Sales prices have steadily headed down since January 2007. For the most part, those homes that were listed four, six, eight, 12 months ago were listed too high! Therefore, they missed a window of opportunity to sell their homes. Just as we, as Realtors, buyers, sellers, need to watch the market to "buy" a home, we also need to pay attention to how to price and "sell" a home. Many want to list their homes a bit higher to see what they can get. Not a good idea in this market. I strongly suggest to sellers that they please list at their rock bottom with "maybe" $5,000 for wiggle room. Unfortunately, many think that because their neighbor has his/her listed at a higher price and "isn't as nice" that they too, should begin at that price.
