This was the thinking of my father, who taught school for 40 years.And that thought came back to me today. Often, I see and hear people say, “he touched my heart” and place their hand over the left side of their chest.That can make sense to many. And I am going to give you a different thought to consider on this.Our heart that is inside our body on the left side of our chest, pumps blood, and that is ALL IT DOES. Phoenix Home Values Continue To Rise As Other Major US Areas Slow Down!The average U.S. home value rose eight percent in the last year, with median home value at $218,000, but that doesn't mean most major housing markets was at pace. Rather, Zillow's July 2018 report found that 20 of 35 largest US housing markets experienced slowed growth. Phoenix was one of the exceptions with a 7.7 percent increase, a median home value of $256,000 and a faster than average rate of home value growth at 4.8  percent.What's slowing down for Phoenix, though? Try the median rent growth. The same report found the growth of median rent for Phoenix in the same period slowed down from to 2.6 percent to 1.7 percent, with median rent coming in at $1,362. Isn’t it strange, when you take human beings, all born in America, all living in America for the most part. And split them up into a couple of different groups.When I was in the U S Navy and even when I have been around people in the military nowadays, never seem to hear them talking about how they are #1 how their company is #1. Raising awareness for all things about sustainability requires many man hours.  Man hours being a liberal term of course.  Volunteers who put sustainability efforts above their own schedules and promote sustainabilty are priceless in their efforts, but also in their results.   Volunteering at booths, in classrooms, and at public events requires a break away from their own business to help others understand the need to reduce their carbon footprint is very impactful work!  The people that volunteer in sustainability can be described as self-less, caring, warm- hearted folks who are generous with their time.  We're pretty much like family and when someone leaves the group, warm memories surface. The photo above is of one of the many times we set up "the beast" of a booth for the US Green ...

When I talk with agents in all 50 states, who tell me they don’t have a few minutes for me to explain something that is a new model, a new platform in real estate, and they don’t have time to listen because they “love their broker.”That is what I have had several say to me over the past few months.That appears to me they care more about their broker than their own family or themselves as far as that goes.SERIOUSLY!  I am so grateful to live at the bottom of the Phoenix Mountain Preserve! This morning while out for my morning hike/meditation I came across two guys I haven't seen since last spring. Most of us quit hiking during the summer months because it's just too hot.  But the two guys I ran into today said they'd been hiking all summer long.  Braver than me for sure! I'll take the pool and  a nice swim over a hot hike!  I've been hiking these mountains for over 25 years and have met some pretty amazing folks along the journey. Everyone is always welcoming to new hikers and or course we're always giving out directions to those that are 'lost' and have no idea how to get to where they're trying to go (there are dozens of trails - and then some).  Homes sales and prices increased during October in the Phoenix, AZ real estate market.  The number of homes sold rose by 5% versus September but were flat year over year. The average sale price was up 6% from September, and was up 9% over October 2017. Sellers continue to get about 98% of their list price. The number of homes on the market increased 10% over September and is flat year over year.  The 12 month moving average sale price, now at $295,385 (up 9% from the previous year), continues to edge up.  The days on market is at 60, down 2% from last year and well within the benchmark of a seller's market.  The "Burn Rate" (pending sales/active listings) increased again to 3.16 months supply.  The price per square foot dropped 6% from September and is up 10% from last year.
