  Good Morning Everyone, Spring, the season of change.  In the White Mountains of Arizona that means it is "wind season".  We have several seasons in the White Mountains, not just the usual four.  First we have Winter, a time for snow, cold, temperature extremes that can exceed 40 to 50 degrees in a day.  It can be in the single digits at night and raise to the mid-40's, even the low-50's during the day.  Next comes False Spring, usually in the month of March.  A deceptive month for which many plants suffer because it will inevitably get above normal for a couple of weeks spurring the trees to start growing, leaves to start coming out, even flowering bushes to bud.  Then wham, we get a cold spell, even a heavy snow and all those trees go back in to shock.   I will never understand why it is when you finally decide you need a break, that is when everything starts happening.  I had been having a rather slow month so decided to take a few days off to visit friends in Tucson.  Before the end of our first full day of visiting, I had two contracts and an acceptance on a Short Sale that had been in escrow since May.  In addition I got three new inquires off my website and active rain and several calls for showings on my listings.  I guess it is true, if you need business, just take a vacation. Good Morning Everyone, I read an interesting blog post this morning on Activerain and it got me to thinking that perhaps the subject was one I needed to touch on here. It is how an election year affects the Real Estate Market. What I have observed is that it creates fear in both Buyers and Sellers. Now I admit, the past several years have also contributed to that fear factor but this year the Presidential Election seems to be creating more uncertainty than ever. Why, I am not sure. I think perhaps because the American people are so polarized on one side of the fence or the other and they fear that if their preferred candidate doesn't get elected the world as we know it is going to end. 37th Annual Fall Artisan's Festival September 29 & 30, 2012 ($2.00 Admission)         The Pinetop-Lakeside Chamber of Commerce will host our 37th Annual Fall Artisan's Festival, September 29-30, 2012. Location -Mountain Meadow Recreation Complex on Woodland Road. Hours are 9 to 6 pm Saturday, and 10 to 3 pm Sunday. The Fall Artisan's Festival is a large arts and crafts show with over 80 artists in attendance.
