CLICK HERE To search homes for sale in Greater Vancouver & the Fraser Valley Last week, in the afternoon, we were paid a visit by a family of Black Bears.  I had heard that there was a mother with three cubs wandering around but they had eluded my site until now.  What a cute family they make, I have seen 2 cubs many a time but three!  The runt of the litter is not even black, he is very much brown as the video shows, so much so that I would mistake him for a Brown Bear cub.  Brown Bears are much more aggressive and dangerous to humans then the Black Bear, more along the lines of the Grizzly Bear.  Black Bears are not an unusual site in the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley real estate areas of British Columbia and the Albion / Thornhill neighborhoods of Maple Ridge are no exception but ... 07/03/2010

YES.... There is GOLD in them thar hills!! I find it quite relaxing when I have a couple of free hours (Which is very seldom), to be able to drive 25 minutes up to Golden Ears Park, get out  on the river bank, and pan.  Though I have only done this a couple of times, I have found a few flakes that are actually gold... Most of them are fools gold... a magnet helps you tell the difference.. I think I am going to walk up to the waterfall next time and see if I can find a couple nuggets!(Note:  Good time of year to go.. right after the run off... which carries the gold down)Yes... I am a NOVICE.... Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows Taking a look at the listings and sales over the past month or so in our area, it is interesting to see Please note, that according to the National Association of Realtors (USA) Buyers Market = More than 6 months of inventory Balanced Market = Right around 6 months of inventory Sellers Market = Less than 6 months of inventory Taking the sales in January and February , 2010 (March numbers are not final for another couple weeks) For Detached Homes only... There were 180 homes that sold... which averages 90 per month... Current Inventory is 569 Homes as of this morning.  (April 1, 2010) Which gives us 6.3 months of inventory..
