Fireplace safety - You might think that anyone would like to live in a home that is safe and secure but apparently some just don't understand why we have professionals in the business to insure their safety.  What would you think if you saw soot coming from under the chimney stack and out onto your siding? I think most people would have the fireplace repaired for safety. Not this guy, he grouted the seam to make it "look better" I suppose. Unreal. There must have been some people living in this home that he didn't like... In this case this chimney stack will be removed and a window place in the upper portion to match the window on the other side of the home.  I find it so hard to believe that anyone would believe this had been  repaired. Hire an expert.
