On January 21, 2020, it was 45 years since our Mother passed away.  My Sister and I remain and are very close, talk frequently and basically drive each other crazy because we love one another so much. Yes, it's pretty much always been this way. Sometimes, I love this time of year, and mostly I cannot wait for it to pass and to get on with the year.  These three months now, are almost over...Our Sacred Months when the three most important people in our lives transitioned. How do you recover from loss?  It is such a wide topic and I know that I'm giving you a lot of information all at once.  Don't worry, there will not be a quiz. Our Dad passed away  ...

I was visiting an assisted facility living facility and bringing balloons to one of their residents.Was excited to see his face as I decorated his room with the green and red balloons.  The red balloons were hearts and the green balloons were stars.  Together, it did remind me of Christmas.  Although, it wouldn't have mattered what color the balloons were.   I was doing this out of love, compassion and in a way selfish reasons...to feel like I was making a difference for another human being.I had purchased the balloons at the local Dollar Tree, thinking that I'd be including one with my Client deliveries.  Then when I got them in the car, I decided otherwise.The gentleman I was visiting is in the life guidance section.  This is a locked section of the facility that caters to those suffe...

One of my VIP Clients is in the process of purchasing a home.   The home has much deferred maintenance.  It seems the past twenty years it has barely been cared for.  The former owners filled two dumpsters (I may be exagerating but that is what the listing agent told me on the phone a few days ago) before they put the home on the market. What are some things to consider when purchasing a new home? 1)  Get the plumbing checked:  That could include septic tanks inspected and certified, turning the water on and off and seeing if there are any noticeable leaks in the drywall or ceilings...Checking walls where there is moisture evidence (even if it's past evidence) with a moisture meter.  Most inspectors carry moisture meters.  If not, I hear they are about $100-$200.  One way that you can c...
