Do any of you remember the Econ 101 classes in college.  Especially the chapter about supply vs demand, and when the supply of a commodity drops, the demand increases.  Well we are seeing this before our eyes in the U.S. housing market!  As a real estate agent looking for properties for clients, the supply of homes is dropping like a rock!  Are we going to build our way out of it?  No, since it is so hard to build due to regulations, fees, and lack of loans for builders.  Here is a good article by Reuters talking about the inventory at 13 year lows! U.S. home resales edged higher in January and left the supply of homes at its lowest level in 13 years, a sign that steam is gathering in the U.S. housing market. The National Association of Realtors said on Thursday that existing home sales...

Woods Weekly Mews March 23, 2011     Some of you may have seen this image/video of a dog, standing vigil over a wounded friend after the devastating earthquake & tsunami which recently struck Japan.  This image serves as a reminder of the bond our animals share with us (and with each other). Even in the aftermath of disaster, overwhelmed by fear, tired, wet, cold and alone--friendship knows no bounds. Thank you for your friendship and support as we work to provide a premier level of care for all of the homeless dogs and cats of Woods Humane Society. (Both of the dogs pictured above were rescued and are doing well)Now on to your regularly scheduled Mews..."Time spent with cats is never wasted" - May SartonBecause of the near nuclear disaster in Japan in the wake of the devastating e...

"A thankful heart is not only the greatest virtue, but the parent of all other virtues" - CiceroHappy Thanksgiving to one and all!  We hope that you have a wonderful day with friends and family.Did You Know? When the Mayflower reached Plymouth Rock on December 21, 1620 there were 102 passengers:  52 men, 18 women, 32 children - plus several dogs and cats.  In the 16th century, cats were routinely kept on ships to protect the limited food supplies from rodents.  And it's been documented that some of the families brought their family pets - both dogs and cats - with them to the new world.  So it's very probable that there were cats at (or at least somewhere around) the first Thanksgiving celebration.Cats were important to the new settlers for exactly the same reason they were importan...
