One of the oldest courthouses remaining in California is located in Auburn, CA. It was constructed back in the mid 1890’s and sits on a hill near the freeway; it is certainly a landmark in this city. The courthouse is rumored to have been designed based on a courthouse in Santa Rosa, that building was lost in the 1906 earthquake.
