Carlsbad, California Local Batiquitos Lagoon Clean Up Slated. The Batiquitos Lagoon Foundation will hold the sixth annual Kayak Cleanup with the first launch at 7:30 A.M., and the last launch at 3:30P.M, September 24th & 25th, 2011. The event allows kayakers to access the lagoon that is normally closed to boating and simultaneously aids in preserving the lagoon habitat by removing shoreline trash. People may bring their own kayaks or use kayaks and safety equipment provided by event sponsors. Each group will be accompanied by guides who will take parties to areas of interest and also provide help if needed. The cost is $45.00 per person and is a tax-deductible donation to BLF.
