Why I Love San Diego #53 Surf Fishing in San Diego  I tried surf fishing quite a few years ago when I lived in Carmel Valley. I would go for long walks at the Torrey Pines State Beach with my wife and watch others relaxing while surf fishing. I watched them, what they used for bait, how they casted into the surf, the types of fish they were catching and it looked like fun. Mortgage Backed Securities are up thus far today after declines yesterday.  The European Central Bank (ECB) made no change in policy, as expected. The ECB expects to leave accommodative monetary policy in place for quite a while.  In the USA, the ADP estimate for private sector job gains in May was 173K, very close to the consensus of $175K. On an annualized basis, September starts came in at 1.2 million units, while expectations were for 1.15 million units. August starts were revised a little higher as well. Most of the increase in September starts was in multifamily units. Building permits fell a bit short of expectations.
