At the end of last week, Mortgage Backed Security (MBS) prices rallied to the best closing levels of the year on very light volume. The move appears to have been overdone, and MBS have begun this week by giving back Friday's gains. Construction Spending came in higher than expected and the biggest gain in the past 5 months. Compared to yesterday's closing, the market has opened with a 0.125 worsening to the Points/Credits associated with any given interest rate option. Home Prices in Carmel Valley (San Diego 92130) for August 2014 Data for "Home Prices in Carmel Valley (San Diego 92130) for August 2014" taken from the report published on Aug 5, 2014 by San Diego Association of Realtors. Home Prices in Carmel Valley (San Diego 92130) for April 2014 Data for Home Prices in Carmel Valley (San Diego 92130)  for April 2014 taken from the report published on May 5,2014  by San Diego Association of Realtors  Carmel Valley saw a mixed bag of results for sales in April 2014. A total of 78 attached and detached homes were sold in April 2014 in the 92130 zip code of San Diego County. Attached homes were the big winners with an increase of over 25% in the median price as compared to April 2013 as well as improvement in the total number of homes sold and a large reduction in the average days on the market. December CPI inflation rose 0.3% from November, matching the consensus projections. Core CPI, which excludes food & energy, increased 0.1% (also matching the consensus). Weekly jobless claims declined slightly to 326,000, which was also very close to expectations. Carmel Valley is a master-planned community located in between the metro inland and the central coastal communities in San Diego, California. It is the last open space being developed in the county and features a lot of newer construction. There are many larger homes available in this climate friendly area as well as condos and townhomes, with recent listings going into escrow listed from $220,000 all the way up to 2.9 million dollars.
