Arden Park (Carmichael, CA)

This past Friday night, my good friend and local candidate for Assembly, Matt Gray, did something very heroic. Matt was near his Arden Park home when he saw a house on fire, with no emergency services having arrived yet, and he attempted to save the person trapped inside.  You can read the story here.   Unfortunately, Matt, who had barged into a burning house with a garden hose in one hand, was unable to save the Sacramento resident. Matt did, however, manage to drag the unconscious man out with his other free hand, spraying the hose as he made his way back to safety. Will Matt did suffer some miner smoke damage and exhaustion, I have no doubt he would do it all over again. As an active fellow-member of Successful Thinkers in Sacramento, I am very aware of how powerful our intentions to...

Since my favorite place to shop is Whole Foods (mmm….”whole paycheck” is what a friend recently called it!), I just adore the Arden Park Area, so thought I would start including it in my Sacramento Housing Stat Report. As a child, one of the most exciting things I remember about Easter was going to the store and seeing bins filled with colorful baby chicks.  On my grampa's farm I would chase the little chickies all over the place trying to catch one.  They were too swift for me darting under the fence or into an opening in the barn.  Finally the mama hen would get fed up and jump all over me.  Scared me from chasing her babies.  That's for sure.    Children love little baby bunnies, ducklings and chicks.  They are cute a cuddly.  Fun to play with for about a day or so.  But what happens after the novelty wears off?  Rabbits and birds need special care.  While they may make excellent pets for some people, they are not toys.  Please resist the urge to buy them for your children unless you are willing a...
