HOW TO BUY LIKE A SELLER IN COSTA MESA CALIFORNIA   If you're in the market to buy a home, take a counter-intuitive tip and imagine the day you'll be selling it.  That's right - whether you're a first time buyer, or relocating, this home probably won't be your last, so look for features that will pay off when the day comes to move again. North, south, east or west, the biggest amenity the next buyer will look for is central air conditioning.  In the Deep South, over 90% of buyers rank central air as critically important, and three-quarters of buyers everywhere else put it high on the list. Another often-overlooked feature is storage.  Over half of buyers desire a two-car garage and a walk-in closet for the master bedroom.  Ample closets and storage space just can't be stressed enough. ...

A Warm Invitation to Costa Mesa California Real Estate   In spring and summer, it's easy to envision ways to enhance your home's curb appeal with a trimmed lawn, planted and potted flowers, and patios and decks arranged with outdoor furniture and an inviting grill.  But when the leaves fall and the temperatures drop, even homes in temperate climes undergo a winter transformation that can challenge a seller to create exterior appeal. When it comes to landscaping and colorful plants, there are plenty of ornamental grasses and plants that look great in wintertime.  Purple cabbages, fountain grasses, and potted evergreens along pathways and by the door all add seasonal color and appeal.  And obviously, your sidewalk, entry path, patio and deck should be clear of leaves and grass. Be sure t...

You have the right to expect more from a realtor than being chauffeured between homes you found on the Internet. Research by the National Association Realtors indicates that 76 percent of sellers and 59 percent of buyers continue with the first real estate agent they call. How do you make that decision when the traditional real estate site shows as little as possible? Their goal is to direct you to an agent for detailed information. Often you will be directed to newer, lower–volume agents. Rather than asking you to make a decision on a realtor without information, Robert provides poof of his market knowledge, responsiveness and commitment to service through his blog articles and reports. Newport Beach Real Estate Expert provides real data about market conditions in Newport Beach and ad...

It's Not a Costa Mesa Short Sale. Is that Better or Worse for a Buyer?   Okay, it's not a Costa Mesa short sale, why should a buyer care?  Does it matter if you're buying a home whether or not it's a short sale?  What difference does it all make any way?   If you're buying a Costa Mesa home, you may have heard that many of them are short sales, and you may be uncertain of what that means to you.   A short sale occurs when a seller owes more on his home than it's worth, and the bank agrees to accept an amount less than is owed upon sale of the home.    For more information about short sales, please see   So, what does this mean to you as the buyer?    The Short of It: PROS Frequently less expensive than a "standard" sale Typically better maintained than an REO/foreclosure Sellers are typ...

When is the Right Time for a Costa Mesa Buyer to Find a Real Estate Agent?   Some Costa Mesa buyers feel that they should not engage a real estate agent until they're ready to buy a home, which is usually defined by the need to see the inside of homes.  I feel this is a mistake.   A Costa Mesa Realtor can help a Costa Mesa buyer in many ways starting early on in the search for the perfect home.   A real estate agent should be able to provide a Costa Mesa buyer with information about different neighborhoods and help a buyer to decide what is important to them when buying their home.  An agent who asks the right questions might help a buyer consider things they hadn't thought about. What's important to you about buying a home? Do you need to be near a park? Do the kids need to walk to sch...

Lions Park Costa Mesa Lions Park is located at 570 E. 18th Street in Costa Mesa. It is home to the Lions Club Fish Fry each June and is also sometimes called the Airplane Park.   The term "Airplane Park" comes from the large concrete airplane that is a centerpiece of the playground. It has been there for decades. When I first played there, it was unpainted concrete. Today, it is painted blue. Regardless of the color, the kids love to jump in the cockpit and climb on the wings of the airplane. Lions Park also features two playground areas. One for older children and one for younger children with slides and climbing areas appropriate for their ages. Lions Park is located adjacent to the Costa Mesa Aquatic Center and library.   All in all, there are a lot of great things for kids to enjoy ...

Need an Orange County Verizon Store? Visit Matt Chiarella in Costa Mesa for Amazing Service!   Yesterday I went to the Verizon Store at 2300 Harbor Boulevard in Costa Mesa, CA.  I had some hopes that someone would be able to help me with an issue resulting from an insurance claim on a netbook.   I had dealt with the insurance company twice who had replaced my netbook with what I did not consider to be a comparable replacement.  The new netbooks appeared to run about 1/3 as fast as my old one and was a different manufacturer.  It didn't matter if I wanted to use the internet or Word; everything was excruciatingly slow. When I complained about the first one, they sent me another of the same brand and model that had the  problem. In frustration, I visited the Verizon store in Costa Mesa.  ...
